In theory, fuel cells are pretty simple. In practice things quickly get complicated.
To run a tiny one on your desk for a few minutes wouldn't be too challenging.
However... They produce water and can drown if you don't manage it properly. If you let them get too hot, they can dry out in places ...

Re: Looking for a BMS for a 72S system
I have looked at the wiki for the VW modules and they need to be arranged in a particular way that doesn't suit the way I want to configure my packs. That's why I am not using them.
Cheers,
Andy.

Looking for a BMS for a 72S system
Hi Folks,
I am working on my EV conversion and I am thinking about a BMS solution.
For reasons of mechanical layout, I will have three battery packs.

For Sale: 220 off EIG c020b pouch cells
Hi I have 220 EIG Lipo pouch cells that I no longer need and so have for sale.
I bought these a few years ago to replace the failed cells in my first EV, a Citroen C1 Evie. I fitted these and a new BMS and did around 2000 miles before scrapping the car and moving on.
20 are unused, still sitting ...

Lexus GS450H motor and inverter what voltage are you running
Hi Folks,
My project is slowly progressing. It has a GS450H motor and inverter with a Zombieverter to give it the magic.
I am working on the battery configuration at the moment.
I see on the wiki that I can run this from around 300v to 650v but I am curious to know what people are doing.

Thanks for that.
I was thinking the contactor may weld shut but from what you have said and some other conversations I have had, a pyro seems like over-kill.
Thanks,
Andy.

Would you add a pyro fuse?
Hi,
I am working on an EV conversion using a GS450h and Zombieverter.
I know it's very good and well used but at the back of my mind I have the worry, what if it goes Wide Open Throttle for some mystery reason?
I know dropping the contactors isn't a good idea but what about adding a pyro fuse as ...

Wanted: PCB from VW/Audi 4S (5QE.915.599.AJ) battery.
Hi Folks,
I am looking for PCBs from VW/Audi 4S batteries. I need the ones without the BMS on, essentially this are just connectors between the loom and the cells but in PCB form.
Does anyone have any sitting around that they would like to part with?
Thanks,
Andy.

Thank you tom91,

Hi Folks,
I have an E-Golf battery pack that I have broken down to its 4S and 2S batteries and I am trying to work out the connections so I can build my own packs.

What current can I expect with a GS450h transmission
Hi Folks,
Things are coming together slowly on my EV project with most of the big-ticket items either sitting on a shelf or, in a few cases, actually fitted.
The question now is one of cable sizing.
What cables are you running from your batteries to the inverter etc. and what kind of current can ...

I've been standing in the engine bay today, taking measurements and getting my head around the task ahead.
I _think_ the Land Rover mounts will fit straight into the existing engine mounts so no chassis mods needed
I'll let you all know when they arrive.
Cheers,
Andy.

GS450h Transmission. What engine mounts.
Hi Everyone,
I have the old IC engine out of my car now and I'm contemplating how to mount the GS transmission in its place.
I don't imagine anyone hard mounts the trans to the chassis so what do you do for engine mounts.
This is for a Scimitar so it's a ladder chassis.
Thanks,
Andy.

Hi,
Does anyone have a pair of the brass power posts required for the GS450h inverter to squirt power in past the IGBT and Coil?
Thanks,
