Re: CCS charging using Prius buck-boost converter
I decided not to use the isolated voltage level that the buck/boost module can supply as I wasn't confident I could read it accurately. It's normally connected to the Prius battery input voltage. There is a high voltage signal available which measures the boosted DC bus voltage, but for that you nee...

Re: Can't Initialize Isabellenhütte ISA Sensor. [SOLVED]
All, I struggled to get a couple of ISA Isabellenhutte shunts initialised and working so am putting my solution below in case it helps anyone. I didn't have an Arduino to use the Jack Rickard-derived code linked in the wiki here https://openinverter.org/wiki/Isabellenh%C3%BCtte_Heusler but I did hav...

Re: Foccci wakeup/sleep discussions
We can only combine Foccci with a charger that doesn't have its own CP and/or PP handling. We could make the 2k7 pull down and 5V pull-up switchable as well to free up the signals for chargers that do handle CP/PP and The above is my use case: adding DCFC to an OEM EV which has none, but its OBC ex...

Re: CCS charging using Prius buck-boost converter
Or it is intentionally with an offset. To make it possible that the controller can distinguish between the cases "sense circuit broken" (0V) and "no HV" (0.54V). Just find the equation, and find out whether the result is stable enough. I think the problem was a poor ground refer...

Re: CCS charging using Prius buck-boost converter
I have been trying to get an accurate measure of the DC bus voltage. The buck/boost converter outputs 'VL' which I thought was a 100:1 scaled voltage measurement of whatever the orange sense wire is connected to. By default, it's connected to the positve post of the battery input and hence measures ...

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?
Apologies for the interruption - I looked at the FOCCCI schematics for CANbus termination to see if FOCCCI can exist as an unterminated node on the network. There's a 1K resistor on the CAN lines and some text saying this aids with setup on the desk. I think this means that FOCCCI can exist happily ...

Thanks to @MattsAwesomeStuff I've been able to edit the wiki and add more flesh to what I've been doing.

Updates to follow, apologies as progress is a bit slow at my end.

What would you like for hand-holding? How can I help? I am not clear on 'where' I should document this. The wiki has a bunch of pages that are not linked to from the main page https://openinverter.org/wiki/Main_Page - for instance https://openinverter.org/wiki/CCS_EVCC_using_AR7420 is not accessibl...

Re: Prius boost module PM400DV1A120
Best I can come up with is this: https://www.mitsubishielectric.com/semiconductors/powerdevices/products/ipm-dipipm/ipm-l1-s1-v1/pm400dv1a060.html which links to a datasheet. That product is PM400DV1A060, and it supposedly is rated for 400A and 600V. The part numbering implies that the module in the...

Re: Prius contactor AEV6910A G3843 47020
TL;DR: 80A continutous, no economiser, no flyback. I found this link https://www.batterydesign.net/toyota-prius-gen-2-battery/ which describes the battery pack, and given the contactor in question protects said pack we can infer some details. It says the pack has a peak power output of 30kW for 1s, ...

Re: Orion BMS and CCS
If I understand then (guessing): a Fellten hardware module detects the user plugging a charge cable into the car. This hardware recognises a plug is present (maybe it provides the 12V to the Orion to go into charge mode). The hardware interrogates the CP to decide whether it's a CCS EVSE or type2 AC...

Re: Orion BMS and CCS
Thanks for the suggestion. Do you know where I can find out what the Zero-EV /Fellten CCS profile actually does, in terms of logic, process and CAN message structure? I haven't asked them yet as they have no incentive to get into the weeds with me on this. I haven't asked Orion either just yet. My i...

Orion BMS and CCS
I would love to hear from anyone who's integrated an Orion BMS with CCS. I'm looking at a solution for low voltage packs (sub 200V), and my plan is to boost said volage to the c. 400V for a CCS EVSE to work with. I run an Orion to handle my normal on board charger, and I need to talk to someone who ...

Prius boost module PM400DV1A120
Hello, does anyone have a datasheet or specification info on the boost control module in the Prius inverter/controller (gen 2) - part number PM400DV1A120?
I'm interested in current handling and how the fault handling works.
Any intel gratefully received!

Prius contactor AEV6910A G3843 47020 [SOLVED]
Does anyone have an info on the battery contactors from the Gen2 Prius? I believe the Toyota part number is G3843-47020. Made by Matsushita, branded NAIS, AEV6910A. I haven't been able to find a datasheet. I'm intererested in current handling capacity, whether they have a built in economiser or whet...

Re: CCS charging using Prius buck-boost converter
I have managed to get very basic low voltage DC charging working using the buck/boost converter. As per previous post, I powered the boost control module directly through its input plug and bypassed the rest of the prius inverter/controller. I grounded CSDN, and held CPWM at 0 duty cycle. I enabled ...

Re: CCS charging using Prius buck-boost converter
So I have finally got hold of a gen 2 inverter and I've jerry rigged a Teensy to control it. My intention is to only run the buck-boost part of the controller, so I will disconnect the DC inputs to the DCDC converter and I will power the boost module and control it directly through its 16 pin plug, ...

Re: [WIP] 1973 VW 1303S
I'd like to see an Outlander conversion. People do do Tesla SDU conversions but have to de-tune them for the reasons above, so seems a bit of a waste of effort. I know @Bigpie did a modern Beetle conversion with an Outlander motor. According to the wiki there's a front transaxle and a rear drive uni...

Re: CCS charging using Prius buck-boost converter
I have a Gen 2 inverter/controller on the way, and some contactors and a precharge resister I got cheaply from Fleabay. I am going to run the CPWM signal from a Teensy to start with so I've adopted @Cathphish's suggestion to run a low side then high side switch to make sure that if my Teensy crashes...
