Re: Model 3 Battery Pack Charging (outside of auto)
In the end of 2020 Damien had a handful of videos on Model 3 charge port hacking. The idea was the vehicle and evse communicate to the charge port controller which communicates to the pcs. He dropped the effort and started work on i3 lim hacking and then circled back around and used some of the work...

Zombieverter and Tesla
Hey guys, it looks like the current Zombieverter features don’t include anything Tesla besides possibly sending CAN throttle messages to an openinverter board inside a Tesla inverter. I believe the 3/Y PCS controller is just sending CAN to activate charging and dc/dc, so it would make sense to inclu...

You can see the ground strap on the right side attached to the inverter.

Re: SDU grounding
My 2018 model X front drive unit came with a ground strap. I connected it to a chassis motor mount.

I actually tried the Leaf motor, gearbox, and axle hanging vertical before I came to my senses.

Re: The Final Frontier - AWD Nissan Truck
I decided to focus on the front motor first to ensure I actually make this AWD. Original 2WD front hub. IMG_2505.JPG Installed new Frontier 4WD front hubs. IMG_2509.JPG The Frontier front axle vs the Nissan Leaf axle. They use the same spline! If only I could fit the Leaf motor in the front. Let's t...

Re: The Final Frontier - AWD Nissan Truck
I figured out the hard way the polarity on the inverter DC input. I had it backwards at first and my precharge resister started smoking. The plastic next to where the lug bolts actually has P and N molded into it, dang! Definitely use thicker wire at full voltage and amperage. This is a test setup a...

Re: The Final Frontier - AWD Nissan Truck
I have made a lot of progress on this project in the last year, but I still don't have a main battery. I will catch this thread up and hopefully keep it updated. I have a 2011 Nissan Leaf motor, gearbox, axles, inverter, and dc/dc. I'm not sure if I will use all of these parts. IMG_2451.JPG I got th...

The Final Frontier - AWD Nissan Truck
To boldly go where no one has gone before! Hey Guys, I have finally decided to get off my butt and start this project. I bought this 2007 Nissan Frontier 4 door 6ft bed truck for a good deal a few years ago with the intention of converting it. The engine didn't run very well, but I wound up figuring...

Re: Model 3 PCS Controller Support Thread
I am wanting to use a complete Model 3 battery in my EV conversion. I believe the PCS Controller board is only DCDC, charger, and charge port? Can the Tesla contactors and precharge be bypassed if using the penthouse? I'm thinking I could get the vehicle minimally functional, as in driving and charg...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 Inverter Board
Thanks guys for the helpful info. I have read through Cookie's Audi thread, and the info there as well as the wiring schematic is helpful. The Leaf VCU documentation and Front End thread seen here is good too: https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=643 I still think knowing what those plugs ...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 Inverter Board
Hey Guys, I purchased a VCU board from Damien and I am starting to gather the connectors and get the wiring sorted out for a 2011 Leaf motor. I have the motor wiring harness and I am trying to figure out the best place to tap into it for the VCU and what connectors from the harness I will need. Does...
