Thanks!NiHaoMike wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 12:02 am The boost converter can be used for PFC boost. Add a bridge rectifier to connect the battery side to AC. You'll also need some sort of PFC controller driving the low side boost IGBT, the high side IGBT should be wired to stay off. Operating frequency is about 12kHz.

Re: Prius Gen 3 Mains 3 Phase Inverter Logic Board
Of course feedback is used. The board provides for EITHER open loop via the pot or closed loop via 3 feedback transformers. Rectifiers are on the pcb. Sorry again but due to house moving I don't have time to go through it in detail. Yah, no worries. I'm in no rush, so just taking my time, figuring ...

Re: Prius Gen 3 Mains 3 Phase Inverter Logic Board
I have one of these fellas now--thanks Damien! The design files are now available on his github as well. Trying to figure out how it works before even starting assembly. For context, I am not an EE or any kind of E, just make software for a living and play with cars and have a very basic (mis)unders...

Thanks Johannes and Damien!
A forum member recently reached out to me for help repairing a mod board. Unfortunately, the part we would have needed to repair it is NLA, so they purchased two of the "spare" boards I had from my own JLC run to get their project going. This helped us both out, so thank you very much to t...

Re: Inverter P/N Compatible with V1c Gen 3 board? (G9200-47230)
Please update the wiki with details I've seen this info in other threads as well. 2010-2011 use the "large" boards, everything Gen 3 after that uses the "small" boards originally for the Auris/Yaris. V1D (I believe) is specifically for dual motor where V1C is for single, and the...

Re: GS450H - How to remove the engine - Any tips?
The usual thing is to tilt the the trans end of the engine/trans assembly down as you pull it out so that the engine comes out first, followed by the trans. Realistically, this is how you find out whether you have to remove the trans to be able to lift everything up and over the radiator (just remov...

Re beta boards: Ugh, yeah, haven't tested my beta board cause I haven't been able to find the missing part of our prius harness so far. Sorry about that. Suppose today is a good day to try the junkyard.

Re: PLEASE HELP. GEN 3 damaged 5v supply
Very good to know my board does indeed still have the blinky LED1 and LED2 and. So am it foolish to think there is still hope of saving this board? Since the main micro seems to be alive, I bet you can save it. I had luck replacing broken/incorrect voltage reg ICs...eventually. Tho it's kinda weird...

On a specific note can someone please help me with this : I_Batt=(Param::GetInt(Param::idc)+819.2)*10; //This crashes the stm32 I_Batt=(Param::GetInt(Param::idc)+819)*10; //This works but with a slightly wrong value. I'm 25 years rusty on C++ but, try casting the result of getting the param as a fl...

http://www.subarugears.com/ do just that for old vw beetles and buses! Wow...I guess that's a bargain compared to a Mendeola or something, but that's pricey! And as they seem keen you point out, only for 6 speeds, so probably no help with a hybrid Crosstrek box. On older VW and Audi transaxles it w...

Previously on "Clicky Noise WTF?": - Programmed the main micro with the sine software - Tracked the noise to somewhere near the 3.3V (LD1) regulator. That's also near X1, which appears to be an external clock crystal. The clicking noise is NOT in the MHz range, or I wouldn't be able to hea...

Gen 3 V1c 5V/-5V weirdness and clicking noise double-check?
Sorry in advance for the novel: I ordered five gen3 (V1c) block 3 boards from JLC and have been working to get one assembled and working properly. The main problem was the -5V charge pump components were from the previous design. After replacing those--carefully, at least on my very last board--I fi...

Not long ago I was mouthing off about ordering my own boards from JLC and assembling them. (See here if you're really that bored: https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1509) Of course that was just before I started actually assembling and testing, and of course testing failed, big t...

Re: I need some help with JLC PCB
Hmm... Is it installed the right way? Good luck sourcing semiconductor parts in this economy! -Isaac We *think* it's installed the correct way. There's no dot or line on the chips we got, just text IF8BH. Googling that brings up a part, even related parts, but no datasheets. We oriented it with the...

Re: I need some help with JLC PCB
Welp, I deserve this, so please flame away--my feet are cold anyway. Under 12V, our board's power LED lights up briefly, then settles to a dim glow. Checked the various DC rails and none are remotely correct except the 26V. Strongly suspect that the part I ordered as a MP2359DJ-LF-Z while they...

Will do a screen recording of the process of ordering an assembled board from JLC and upload if that'll be useful. I'm not the one putting in any work, so, my opinion shouldn't matter for much. That said, my opinion is a mixed bag. On one hand, the community has only a few leaders who are really pushing projects from nothing, into something. They do this for free, (or minimal donations), in their spare time, to...

Re: I need some help with JLC PCB
Thanks to everyone on this thread for the question and conversation!! A few things: 1: Ordering from JLC or another vendor, not to mention the 5 or so places you'll have to hit up for connectors and out-of-stock components, is a reasonable part of validating this entire process is feasible and might...
