Tesla Model3 inverter reprogramming-8 : Motor drive test
Based on Damien Maguire’s resources, I successfully reprogrammed the firmware of the TMS320F28377D. With a 400 Vdc input, I conducted a no-load test up to 7,000 rpm. I am currently developing a powertrain dynamometer, aiming to test the performance of the Model 3 rear motor in 2026. Due to the microcontroller’s security, the chip had to be replaced, but the rest of the original inverter was used as-is and operated successfully.
Next year, I plan to perform FOC control through motor mapping, as well as measure torque-speed curves and efficiency maps. In the latter half of the year, I would like to work on adapting the CAN protocol so that, with the help of someone providing parts, I can modify the system for installation into a vehicle. (It would be difficult to re-install it into the original car, but it would be well-suited for retrofitting older internal combustion engine vehicles.)
In Korea, I have already completed inverter modifications for the Ioniq 5, Kona EV, and Sonata HEV.

Running Model 3 Drive Unit with custom software
Hello.
I'm posting a video of Tesla 3 drives being tested under load.
I was able to achieve 186-190 kW in peak mode.
This was achieved using custom software written specifically for the drive. See post number 17.
I also write software for the Tesla Plaid drive.
I'm currently looking for work in electric drives and power electronics.
I'll consider various options.

Tesla model3,Tesla Plaid rear drive unit softweare.
Hello.
I completed a project to write software for Tesla 3 and Tesla Plaide inverters.
I'm considering collaboration options on this topic.
I have extensive experience implementing electric drives and power electronics, including both software and hardware.
Power electronics design (boards, enclosures, software, algorithms).
I'm happy to participate in interesting projects.
I'll consider interesting opportunities for work...

Cool! Is this something you'd be willing to share open source?
If at first you don't succeed, buy a bigger hammer.

Currently considering the transfer of firmware files, calibration, and instructions. Without source code.

I've also moved the post from our Korean friend here as he seems to be doing a similar thing

Well that's a start! I'd encourage you to consider sharing source code as well to help development, but anything's better than nothing in this area.
