GS450h smoothness at very low speed.

Post by Bigpie »

How's everyones GS450h perform at walking pace? For example in crawling traffic?

Mine can be quite jerky but very smooth once moving and I've trying to address.

My setup is:
GS450h with ZombieVerter 1.21 release.
I use the blended motor option, but seems the same with MG1+MG2, MG1 only, MG2 only and blended.
High gear only, it get the same performance in low too.

Just trying to get some data and thoughts together.

It's a Shame to hear this. Are you finding any difference since implementing the "creep mode", and do you have any regen functions. I forget, what inverter are you using?

Also was Andy having the same problem with the L210?

I'm using the 450h inverter, using the sync serial comms. I do have regen, but it's not active at this low of RPM. I'm still experimenting with creep, but I'm not a fan of it, but maybe it'll help diagnose. It seems to not like low torque requests. If I set off a bit quicker its smoother.

Not sure about the L210. Just trying to get an idea of how many of us has this.

Maybe apply good shielding for resolver wires? Try to connect it on one end and then on both ends. Pick the one that works best...
Communication lines between inverter and gearbox too...
What i learned with peugeot sensor wiring was that any aux power lines running parallel to sensors could cause spikes and i kept them well clear by at least 30cm apart from signal wires.

Also gearbox and inverter casings should be connected to chassis by a good size wire - 6mm2 minimum.

I would say for sure moves in the right direction. But not a golden ticket, all setups still will need tuning and propper setting up.

For sure, but this release does contain some throttle fixes that was causing the worst of the issues, at least in my case. Well worth upgrading.

Sure.. Try the release 2.22.. Throttle smoothness resolved.. Speaking as I've been upgrading since version 1. To the latest.. Also check your throttle wiring is using a shielded cable and the zombie serial cables too
