About two months ago I bought a board from you (built up and tested).
The values for maximum current etc. are set to 5000A, so I was careful if the other parameters are correct.

The current sensor used on the small drive unit is the Melexis MLX91209.

When replacing a current sensor does it need to be programed ? The manufacturer states the sensor is programmable . Is the current sensor a drop in and solder or does it need to be programed ? I'ts drop in, just make sure you have it in the correct orientation.

They do not need programming and yes they both go in the same way.

So a quick announcement on board pricing and lead times. Of late I have been experiencing untold problems with delays and quality from my pcb builder. Some customers have been waiting months for boards which is unacceptable. I have been working to resolve this and am pleased to announce that I have a new pcb maker signed up. Boards will be machine assembled and undergo AOI. This will let me have boards in stock almost all the time reducing lead times to a matter of days and resolving a lot of quality problems. Bad news is a slight price increase on drive unit boards from 500 to 600 euros for built and tested. Bare pcb pricing remains the same.

I wonder if anyone knows the size of bolts for the small driveunits to fit each of the motorbrackets?

We've been running some tests on the VW Bus project (here) using a ~200V Toyota Prius battery. The integrated contactors, pre-charge components, and safety disconnect make this a recommended test tool for anyone using the SDU in a project

Just busted my current sensor and if you can't tell from my question then I'll say it explicitly. I'm a noob.

My replacement current sensors will be getting here in a couple of days. Do I just pull out the old sensors from the "goo" and drop the new ones in? or is there something more involved?

Yes they go back into the goo. Just be aware of the orientation mark on the device.

Got em in. Should we refill the void in the "camel snot" left from pulling out the old sensors? The new sensors seem pretty secure as is.

Hi all, I notice in V2/3/4 PCBs the following connections are warning as single pin, ie: pin 20 tacho-drive is not longer routed to anything - previously went to an ULN2003ADR

Single pin net ENC_Z_54 on IC1.P$54 at 525.04,466.23
Single pin net SPEED_OUT_25 on IC1.P$25 at 524.04,454.38
Single pin net TACHO_DRIVE on CONN2.20 at 542.92,567.05
Single pin net USER_PWM_62 on IC1.P$62 at 521.04,466.23

Are these functions deprecated and safely ignored?

Those functions are no longer required on Tesla boards and have been deleted.
