Battery pack building best practice

Post by Jacobsmess »

Hi all, one thing I think would be really useful for newbs is some form of wiki page for best practice in building packs. O know a lot of this depends on the vehicle and modules/cells being used but I reckon there's enough general information and expertise here that would be really useful in planning and building battery boxes.

I'm learning as I go here but I guess firstly I think topics to cover would include...
  • BMS options (OEM hacked BMS and aftermarket)
  • Wiring gauge/routing
  • Cooling options and limits (at what point is cooling required?)
  • Crush zones/spacing requirements
  • Service disconnects
  • Contactors and precharge
Anything else?
