Hello. I have tried searching, but am not getting an answer so I thought I'd create a new topic.
I have received a secondhand ZombieVerter from a builder on this forum. When I attach 12v and ground, I see the Zombie's (customised) SSID come up on my WiFi list. So I know _something_ is happening. But when I try connect, I am unsuccessful. Seller has forgotten the password, and my guesses aren't working.
So. Question:
How do I reset the ZombieVerter to 'factory' (ha ha) settings?
The way I see it, either the answer will be
a. 'there is a button you press with a paperclip' or,
b. 'buy an STLink cable, download {insert stl computer app here}, connect to Zombie from laptop with cable, download latest Zombie release file from {insert release page here}, upload to board {via insert method here}.
But I don't know which of these two the right answer is
Scout's honour, I'll update the wiki once I succeed

Re: How to reset the Zombieverter
The password is on the ESP wifi module so no point in "resetting" the main controller
You could fit a new one or search the web on how to erase the flash that stores the password

Re: How to reset the Zombieverter
Aha! Well, that makes things simpler for sure.
I've pulled the module off of the board - the model name is MOD-WiFi-ESP8266 Rev B. That is, it is commonly referred to as an Olimex board on this forum.
A little bit of digging, and I have come to the conclusion that I need to re flash this board with the software it originally would have shipped with from EVBMW - which is this software (which, I note, you wrote johu ) :
https://github.com/jsphuebner/esp8266-web-interface
A little bit down the README we have good instructions for reflashing via a wired method
https://github.com/jsphuebner/esp8266-w ... file#wired
So I will head off and buy a serial to USB adapter now.
Cross reference - the Olimex module has a wiki page here.

I've added a bit of info there to make it a bit clearer what it does.

Re: How to reset the Zombieverter
I didn't see an answer to the subject question. Is it as simple as powering down the VCU? I would like to know, since Ver 2.05 has a note that the VCU must be reset or the inverter will not power up on the GS450h, which is the problem I have been having. Thanks.

Re: How to reset the Zombieverter
After a firmware update you need to power cycle the ZombieVerter and check all the settings are correct.86elcamino wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 1:50 am since Ver 2.05 has a note that the VCU must be reset or the inverter will not power up on the GS450h, which is the problem I have been having. Thanks.
