Leaf Motor controller

Post by zippy500 »

What are the cheapest options are there to spin up a leaf motor with reasonable power output ?

My original leaf inverter that came with the motor is faulty after spending some money on it, want to get back into my project , don't really want to spend anther £600 on a leaf inverter ?

Ampera/Volt inverter

You can cut the original driver cables and lengthen them to your existing control brain. The same applies to current sensor cables.
See here how it looks inside:

If you have Johannes Rev2 board i can search if i have one Volt interface board left. If you want to make your own, you can use my files here:

I now use Lebowski brain to drive Leaf motor. I dont advertise it here since this site is about Johannes inverter.

It is definitely easier than adapting Leaf control board to Prius inverter.
But if you want some more work , you can buy Prius inverter and use Damiens board. I am not yet there with my Prius rev.3 board.
