I bought a BMW 330e hybrid battery pack - Now What?

Post by Gregski »

noooo, not another thread from this guy I bought a BMW 530e hybrid battery pack - Now What?

let's just say I thought about calling this thread: When Lowball Offers Go Wrong! or maybe Right? I needed a third battery pack (having owned two 530e packs already) like a hole in my head, but left alone unsupervised on eBay I saw one local to me and thought I would save $450 on Flat Rate Freight.

and here are two real reasons why I bought it

1. The first one I am embarrassed to tell you so I will click bait you later

2. the 530e "saddle bag" or Siamese Kidney hard shell design lends itself only to fit in the [ wait for it ] BMW 530e and absolutely nothing else unless of course you strip it and roll your own, so I thought lets give this squareish rectangularish shape a go, and yes I know it sports one module less, but we have a plan for that (a bad idea opportunity up ahead)

I will have a BMW pack arriving soon and had a query about the temperature control units the batteries sit on. So I believe these use a refrigerant gas, via a heat exchanger...but do they look like they'd handle coolant liquid as an alternative!!!? Maybe the cross sections and seals don't suit
