i3 SME / Safety Box using CAN?

Post by mnmn »

Hi,

Is it possible to command the SME / Safety Box of an i3, using CAN?
(Similar to the solution from Damien with the BMW PHEV SBox)

Does they use the same circuit in the boxes?

The connector on the i3 cable has 2x8 pins :)
Edit: 2x6pins has the white connector.

Thank you

It can definitely be controlled. It sends 6 CAN messages and receives 15+ messages. CAN high is on A191-1B pin 4, CAN low is on pin 10, GND on pin 2, Kl30 on pin 7, Kl15 on pin 9.

Great news :) thank you very much!

I guess, these commands are not the same, as for the PHEV, right?
Can you give me some more info about them?

Thank you very much in advance.
