Major US Charging Networks ban Charging Adapters and home-build EVs.

Short summary
Electrify America and EVgo have both "banned"^ 3rd party Charging Adapters, only ones by automakers are allowed.
Electrify America have also "banned" electric boats, home-built electric vehicles, home-built onboard chargers, and vehicles that contain personally modified chargers.

^no way to actually enforce this ban, as nether the car nor the charger can see the adapter being used.
Sounds like a Liability covering exercise mostly.

TOS for those who are still struggling to sleep even after watching Damien's Videos.

Yep, sure reads this way.

More of a "You shouldn't, but if you do, it's entirely on you." Which, to be fair, is an acceptable limitation. You hook up your janky home-built vehicle and don't have your settings tweaked correctly, Electrify America should not in any way be responsible for how it messes up your vehicle.

"This prohibition includes, without limitation, electric boats, home-built electric vehicles, home-built onboard chargers, and vehicles that contain personally modified chargers. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, Electrify America shall have no responsibility to You for any damages or losses resulting from Your failure to comply with this paragraph, including without limitation any damages to personal property or arising from personal injury or death. You further acknowledge and agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Electrify America harmless for any damage, liability, or loss experienced by any person resulting from Your failure to comply with the terms of this paragraph."

What constitutes "home built"? Am I an "automaker"? What about professional conversion shops, those aren't "home built".

Consider that if people say "I want to charge faster", and mess with their OEM EV such that their charger tells the interface to give it 200% the current it can safely handle, and then their car burns down, yeah, the network shouldn't be responsible for that bullshit. Cannot be responsible for it.

As to whether it can be enforced, if they really wanted it to be, it could be. You could have busybodies pissed off you're in a spot they want, who call and report you, and get you banned for life, etc.

It's certainly a bad development for DIY EVers. Especially in the US where people travel long distances and where people are trying to save money by having a day pack that can supercharge for trips. :(
