Are you still having problems with comms to the salves?
Hi Joe
Thanks for asking. All good here now, thanks, slaves chatting nicely.
I have also got the cell balancing working, and made a few minor changes for the sake of comms robustness. In test rig mode anyway, with everything much closer together than it will be in situ, the electrical noise from my inverter is definitely not helping.
Cheers, Richard.

Good to hear Richard, I do believe the original BMS harness I have seems to have the wrong pairs twisted together! I was going to use a shielded cable for any extensions, also I'm running two battery boxes, so shielding is going to be required for this.

Ah... that would not help... my harness seems correct, but still the comms seem much more glitchy when the inverter is running. Particularly when starting up / accelerating / doing regen. Not so bad in steady cruise. We'll see what it's like when I get it anywhere near the car...

Hi!
No updates ?
Did somebody created arduino code for reading data of slave BMSs ?

Hi,

Yep code can be found in this thread https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopi ... 335#p20335

I've rewritten this code for my project (using the Peugeot Battery), it needs a bit of tidying before I publish it here, but I hope to do this soon.

Hi everyone. Where can I purchase a MAX17841 interface board?

I have 4 CATL 6s2p modules and would ideally like to make use of the integrated BMS boards.

I have a little Arduino experience and have seen the code posted on the forum. I am just having trouble sourcing the MAX17841 board.

Also, where might I be able to get connectors that fit the BMS sockets?

Appreciate the help, thanks

Hi, I got my board from Clanarn on here, but I'm not sure he has any left, but he did put the diagram of the design on the forum, can't seem to find it at the moment. The design is quite simple and can be found in the manufactures pdf of the MAX17841.

Hi,

Does anyone managed to create a documented thread including the code, HW design, HW connections, parts list, etc?

Thanks, Andrei!

hello, please, if you can contact me and you have time for me, I would very much like to buy your invention for calt flashlights, I have exactly the same 24 pieces, I can't move on even with the specifications of the connectors

I too would like to find out more information - before I tear this pack down into a 44v system for solar storage!

apparently the EVS BMS can communicate but it isn't listed on the supported device list.

If i did tear it down then I would have to cut the packs to make a 15S system - not wanting to do that really - high voltage seems a much neater method!

The EVS-BMS does NOT work with the e-208 CATL modules. Solutions are mentioned in the thread on compatible BMS solutions.

Modules are 6S so you again cannot make them 15S as they are laser welded modules.

Hi,
W 150mm, L 390mm, D 115mm
around 12.5 Kg
2.74 kWh 6S
using in module MAX17823 salve / BMS MAX17841B Master for comms. Daisy chained.

Would be actully 14S. Meaning you sould cut some of the modules in 3 pars.

thanks you guys ,
im a novice at electronics so need clear steer on this were anyone can. I am using the CATL 208e batteries (18 ),they are in the car and all near set aside the last four. i have sourced the pin plug connectors from R/S and have one original with the wires in it .
Obviously I am struggling to understand the actual pin connectors and what the pins do - i am using the Orion 2 BMS and wanted to ask if this BMS is and can be worked with the batteries ? Hopefully yes ? I did read chris post in regards to Tx and Rx 1 but not sure of their meaning .
Any advice clarity on the pin outs would be much appreciated and help me move Ona bit further thanks Rob

Mr BIGPIE. Hi mate im in rawmarsh rotherham S62 6LN were you based ? I do need advice on this can bus set up . I’m on xxxxx
I’m just back from holiday so back at it soon as. The next time il be concentrating on the car is MONDAY 7th august all day really if you fancy popping over ? Or what suits you and we can pop to you ?
On the car i found out a new twist about the tesla oil pump on the model s FSDU so we Gunn have to take out the motor from the car , split it and turn the oil pump upside down ,lol seems extreme but looks like it’s needed .

I would love to see your set up definate ,i can do any days really as long as i know as we are having our granddaughter a few days in the school holidays . My email is xxxx

I’m on face book as Roberto snapo if you’re on there >.
Let me know and appologise for the delay getting back to you

So can i ask all in the group if there is a link or diagram for the pin outs on these batteries. Top row and bottom pins please
I hope and feel sure someone knows but it’s not me at this stage . I would if it’s possible to know from top to bottom row left to right which pin does what or reports what, and if using the original plugs the wire colour as i have one only with wires in it ?
Thanks in anticipation of the help to get this car moving on a bit more than it currently is
Rob

Anybody knows which CATL cells are used in the 50 kwh packs? Are those the NCM 811?
