Chevy Volt gen2 charger for SALE

I am offering 3.6kW Chevy Volt Gen 2 charger.
Charger is tested and works well. Needs to be controlled by 100Hz 85% duty function.
It comes with next items:
AC connector with 2m cable
DC Connector with 1m cable
LV Signals connector with numbered wires ready to be installed.
I can add NE555 circuit for 100Hz signal. You only need to have BMS to terminate 100Hz signal at EOC.
Located in Slovenia EU. Shipping possible with Eurosender 30€ for EU rezidents.
330€ + shipping. Recieve payments via Paypal or bank wire.
I am selling because i found out it only works up to 400Vdc and i need charger for 104S setup.

Yes since i want to use 104S config i need to use a charger capable of 420Vdc. As far as i know it is only Eltek 3kW. I intend to use 2 Elteks reprogrammed to different IDs. Later maybe i will add a third.
Sadly Volt Gen2 charger is redundant now and it only goes to 400Vdc.
It is very easy to start though and must be controlled via BMS. I have already wired the LV connector and DC and AC connectors. One needs only to connect and integrate 100Hz command with Cp and PP signals.

Soon i will also have one Outlander charger/DCDC available for sale as that one wont work above 400Vdc as well.

yup, i've been following along. Why did you decide to go 104s and not 96s?

Well why not. Jaguar uses 108S and i see Volt inverter which i use has a limit of 420Vdc. I assumed naturaly dcdc and charger work with that as well. And dcdc works. But charger is not so.

I guess why not! I just figured the industry components kind of standardized at 96s so that made integration easiest. Certainly as far as some BMSs and chargers go. Good luck! 👍

Hi, do you mean eltek from Volvo V60? Is 420Vdc an absolute max or can it go a little higher like 430? 😊

It could go higher, but my inverter does not support more than 420Vdc. And there are other components at risk and i dont want to push them.

Thanks. Do you mean components at risk inside eltek charger or elsewhere on the car? Would you have dimensions of eltek charger? 😊 If I remember well you had damaged one of these chargers did you manage to repair or got a new one?

Johannes could you move this question somewhere logical to be better available to others? Maybe you could make Volvo section under Hardware? There are several posts about battery and system that would better fit there alongside charger data.

Yes i accidentaly connected it to two adjacent phases (400Vac :o ). Nothing shattering happened on the outside. But on the inside main PCB is at least 4 layers and those blew on the inside together with fuses and diodes. Repair not possible! Damage was very localized, but still on the inside layers...
If you remember i got one of the aircooled rack units from China and modified the old casing to fit it to liquid cooling.

I am still working on getting it programmed to respont to 800ms CAN telegrams. this one works with 100ms command which is too fast for Volvo units.
Feedback is still 1000ms ;).

Yes I remember and I got you now. I thought you were using original eltek from Volvo V60. So do you think original eltek from Volvo would also be capable of 420+ V?

Tested at 415V. Both units. Also datasheets for both units.
