leman2112 wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2020 3:08 am This is awesome! So I do not need a special board like the tesla and mercedes inverter both have? I can just add the few cables I am missing to the jst connector and make sure they are all the same length as the mercedes harness and solder them all straight to my female ampseal female connector? No special connector board needed? I really kinda thought that the connector board might of had some type of purpose but obviously I am definitely a super noob right now. I got a feeling it's gonna work soon enough! Thanks again friends!
can't wait to see the final result which you will get, could you share the CAN connection that you will have when you finish? :)

Sure bud! Today I finally figured out a way to get my 23pin ampseal 90 degree female connector mate to the male connector. The plastic prongs on the edge on the inside did not line up so I took a really tiny file and sawed it all the way down and now they fully connect together.

This 90 may give me the clearance I need to close the case according to Tomdb. Might not hit the phase terminals. Excited to finish my harness, solder the cables to the 23 pin connector 90 degree and see if it will fit.

Should probably watch some YouTube videos on how to solder small cables. Only ever soldered big cables on my electric car. Got an old weller soldering iron my dad had.

have this worked on Mercedes b250e, if so, could you just share the connection that you got, please?

This guy did it from zero ev outta Bristol England I think.

Also need to modify the JST connector on the end of the harness so that it will except the extra wires that are required for a tesla style 23 pin ampseal connector.

Connector for the logic boards is: JST 24CPT-B-2A
Pins are: scpt-a021gf-0.5

So I made some more progress. My belden 22 AWG cables came. Must say the quality of the original Mercedes Harness seem like better cabling. I can count like 8 strands on the belden and the mercedes had like 20 strands. Hmmmm anyone know a more similar cable brand to go with? Kinda want the same stuff.

Also trying to figure out the order of the pinouts. The diagrams that are given dont exactly describe the order in my brain yet? Derp... do I just read 1-20 left to right top to bottom just like a book?

Also realized that the harness makes a total twist on my zero ev harness that I bought to help use as a referance.

By the way, if you had bought the black plug, the coding would also match!

Alright awesome Thanks for the ordering of the pinouts! Yeah the black one plugs right in just doesnt have the 90° angle that will help the connector stay clear of the inverter terminals.

How is the pinout for this JST connector ordered? Like this?

Want to start soldering but dont want to connect them to the wrong pins.

Ok think I found the proper order of the pinouts possibly for the jst connector.

actually I don't think this has anything to do with the jst connector. Darn. Still on the hunt.

Think I got it figured out. Just gonna need to look at the logic board and I bet I will understand the pinout finally.

Ok I think I got the pinout ordering now that I have a visual on the back of the JST connector and the chart provided to me from you guys. Thanks.

Yes and No.

Both do not fit from factory;

Connector: you need to modify the case a bit, not hard just tedious.
Cable: Current one in stock is too short, as the motor is clocked different it needs to be almost twice as long.

Tom-

1. Assuming one modifies the case to make the ZeroEV replacement connector work AND they used the ZeroEV loom (let’s assume it’s long enough for a moment), this would work with the EVBMW board?

2. Could one use two ZeroEV looms joined by a male/male connector? (just for ease and speed over creating new loom)

3. Does anyone know if the extra pins on the MB connector are to operate the parking pawl?

1. Nope, replacement connector board DOES NOT fit physically even after modifying the connector hole on the case. The connections are rotated compared to a Tesla motor.

I have a Mercedes Ldu motor and swapped the wiring to match damien's Ldu board. I added a shielded 8 wire lead into inverter housing using waterproof gland nut. I have a crossover chart for making the correct connections to the jst plug.
