Ok, cool. I will keep you guys updated once I get the part, modify the case, and install it on the case.

Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
Ok got a couple of the the female connectors. One is a 90 degree TE Connectivity, however none of the plugs I bought fit it. The other is not a 90 but the harness and Male plug slide together perfect and connect perfect. So maybe I can build a largish box to attach to the side of the motor to fit all this stuff inside or modify my 90 degree to fit? It's just a bit different but I think maybe I could modify with a dremel perhaps. I will post some pics.

The 90 degree header is set up a little different. the large plastic alignment prong is off a little bit to the left. Tried getting good pics under my led work light. Gonna try to set up better lighting.

Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
The wiring loom all passes through some type of mercedes connector board. Should I just cut the wires off one by one, extend them to be twice as long and then solder them to the pins of my new ampseal connector that fits my harness?

You are missing wires on the control board side. As I mentioned before in this thread. You need to source the crimps to add more wires into the board connector.

Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
Now I am starting to understand. This connector needs more wires and female pins added so that I can have all the wires I need. Anyone have an idea what size I am looking for? I know the wire gauge is 20. Maybe someone knows who makes this connector or where there is a part number on the connector?

Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
You cannot swap the "Tesla" version of connector in there, it will hit the internals as I said before.
Connector for the logic boards is: JST 24CPT-B-2A
Pins are: scpt-a021gf-0.5

Why don't you buy the parts from Zero EV and follow their instructions?

Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
It does not fit on the Merc units due to the rotated casing.Kevin Sharpe wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2020 7:02 pmWhy don't you buy the parts from Zero EV and follow their instructions?

Ordered the JST connectors and pins from mouser just now. Thanks for all the help!

Lady at mouser said I did not order the parts so I just ordered them again. Hmmm....
Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
have this worked on the Mercedes b250e and functioned well on the car?

I got it on Ebay. Well find out if it worked when it was taken out? Just got to finish up the 12v connectors.

Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
Now that I am starting to wrap my head around all these cool parts I think I am about to finally complete this simple task. Wish I bought this harness like suggested earlier on and just cut off one end and made it twice as long. I was very confused back then and thought this was a harness outside of the inverter. Now I can see that it is the harness that comes directly off my logic board and it just needs to be twice as long.tom91 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 8:09 am You do realise, that also the internal wiring is of a reduced pin count. Also to note due to the different clocking you cannot use the replacement or existing Tesla LDU connector boards in a Merc unit.
So what you could do but this loom for the board connector: https://zero-ev.co.uk/product/tesla-lar ... ment-loom/
Then cut off one end and extend it and solder it to a AmpSeal 23 pin 90 degree header.
Today I have all the parts to build this harness except for cables. I am going to drive over to home depot and see if they got some 20 gauge cable like the ones that my mercedes harness used. It looks like it was not shielded. I still am on the look out for some cat5 shielded ethernet cable like damian recommends for using for all of the 12v cables on the large drive unit. Wonder if I used shielded cables it would be ok for this board to 23pin connector project I got going on?

Also not exactly sure about the pinout on the board end. I know what the pinout should be for the 23 pin amp seal connector should be because of the Large Drive unit support page has it on the first page.

Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
Ok new plan. Buy this loom so I don't have to worry about the pinout. Extend this loom one cable at a time so that it is twice as long.

Then use this interface board that was specifically designed for opensource logic board. Modify the case so everything can fit. Then back to simple tesla plug and play componantry.

Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
As I said before, this board DOES NOT fit in the Mercedes Tesla drive units, the casing is clocked wrong. The board will hit the internal construction of the phases.leman2112 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 15, 2020 8:27 am Ok new plan. Buy this loom so I don't have to worry about the pinout. Re: Mercedes-Benz B Electric - motor support
This is awesome! So I do not need a special board like the tesla and mercedes inverter both have? I can just add the few cables I am missing to the jst connector and make sure they are all the same length as the mercedes harness and solder them all straight to my female ampseal female connector? No special connector board needed? I really kinda thought that the connector board might of had some type of purpose but obviously I am definitely a super noob right now. I got a feeling it's gonna work soon enough! Thanks again friends!
