Yes. Hope so. I'm kinda depending on Damien's hacking work...

Well that's an eye opener. I did know they had more potential than the conservative output rating set by Nissan but not more than double!
Someone should design an reduction gear/diff housing to mate 2 of these to 1 drive unit like Tesla. The motors themselves are common and cheap.

I believe the battery was 400V nominal. No idea what the final capacity was. Arlin Sansome has several threads on Endless Sphere and the CRX build is here

Ah, thanks. So Arlin says in a post that his batteries are rated at 5C discharge, so the capacity of the battery pack should be around 45 kWh. He also says in a post that the batteries resting voltage is 465V.Kevin Sharpe wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 10:56 pmI believe the battery was 400V nominal. No idea what the final capacity was. Re: EV build Nissan Leaf donor
Just found this thread searching online for info on Nissan Leaf donor for ev conversion. I also live in NZ (Christchurch), and am considering using a Leaf for a donor for conversion of a 1974 Mini. Where's the best places to start looking to figure out what's feasible as far as re-using the inverter, etc and modifying the battery pack - its only for around town, so ideally I'd split the pack and use half for the car and half for a house battery...
Also Steve, you mentioned about passing up a couple of Leafs at auction - do you know what they sold for? Just trying to get a handle on costs compared to buying DIY conversion kit.. Any help appreciated at this stage!
Cheers, Bevan

Re: EV build Nissan Leaf donor
Leaf drive stack would be pretty awesome in a classic Mini. Right configuration already so that's a bonus.
Crashed Leafs sell for around $5k at auction. The people (usually wreckers) put the battery packs up for sale around $7000 depending on condition.
Turner's Auctions and Manheim are the 2 main auction houses. But Leafs aren't very common. Very occasionally you see private sellers on Trademe. But they don't sell cheaper there either. Probably the same wreckers buying at auction. You see them listing parts on TM.
I'd say buying a wrecked EV is going to beat buying components to convert the "old fashioned" way.
I'm currently looking for a Lexus GS450h, which are even rarer...
