This is a very cheap CAN analizer. But I don't know if the format is compatible with savvy.

The CAN BUS Analyzer Tool APGDT002 from Micrichip is more expensive but probably compatible. About 100€/$

I'm thinking more along the lines of something non pc based. just connect two wires and press a button. logs to an sd card.

I have one of these for exactly that , and its just a reprogrammed olimax board
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAN-Bus-Data ... SwuOZeAQA6
Its great for quick on the fly logging, quick sniffing. I normally just import it I to excel sheet I have so it can convert hex and work out values that are made up of multiple bytes. Admittedly I do prefer the kvaser leaf light and savvy now though.

I wasn't sure how to put a video on so I have put a link to a vid of me trying to find the can cables.

since it is an RHD the BDC will be on the left. The CAN BUS is also on the RND switch and instrument cluster. Twisted red and red / blue wire!

Here is a general Design_Guide of what needs to be done by a CCS port. I do not know if it is of any help to you, but here it is.

The trick I’ve used in tight spots like that is to push a pin or needle into the wiring, then attach a clip to the bare needle sticking out. This should get you a signal without needing more than 10-20mm of wire access. Good luck and thank you!

If you have a arduino due:
viewtopic.php?t=1425
that gets your can interface out of the way!

Just search YouTube for Savvycan. Collin has two or three tutorials
