they are cheap "GA9A01" from Aliexpress, along with a wemos s2 ... relatively easy to use with the E_TFT library in arduino ... follow the guide below and i modified jamies code for my uses
The only word of warning buy more than 1, as my fist one was duff and i thought it was a code issue, but it was actually the screen

Somehow i DID NOT snap the 3.2mm drill bit or break the m4 Chinese tap.. go figure... sure i break loads tomorrow now

parts bin special here ... speed is of the essence at the moment. i have to use small screws here as there isn't much clearance between battery modules and the frame and if i were to have a bump i don't want any bolt threads impacting the battery module.

after a long absence of shame (will post update, when i have energy....) i finally got movement

Hi, could I ask an easy question...hopefully. I've also got a Passat battery, what's the voltage of each module? I need 48V modules so don't want to break it open unless the modules are 48V. Do you know? Love the build and the real-life timescale!

To explain, i bought the battery for use with a Leaf motor but IVA cost now makes this impractical so I'm planning to build a 48V DC using a Warp 9 motor to avoid the serious cost of the battery certification for the IVA test. Hope that makes sense. Cheers!

Passat batteries are 12s so 12*4.2= 50.4v (only use 4.1 max) ... Biggest problem of this will be finding a charger (other than ebike charger) that's happy with the 35v(2.9v) minimum.

Ps have you spoken to janosch foxev.io as he has actually put taxis though and iva with leaf cells and motor.

But yes do get the 12s initial iva then 96s upgrade route....was planning to do it myself haynes7 style but realised the route would iva as ice from mx5 donor then re reg as EV later which seemed too much hassle for me.

On the upside having so much practice I'm bow getting better at battery boxes managed to make a new rear battery box in 2 long lunch breaks based on latest weigh in I'm at 950kg with a12kwhr pack which is probably good enough for most of my needs

To slow charge 48V I have been using Meanwell HLG LED power supplies successfully for the last few years - waterproof and adjustable.

She is MOT'd so now road legal ...now off to tax it as petrol so I can actually use it.... Then off to declare war on DVLA
