SolarVan- Replace Leaf inverter with OpenInverter

Post by SOLEVA »

Dear all, dear community,

we have electrified an old Peogeot J9 van with the following setup :
- VW batteries
- Nissan Leaf motor+inverter (AZEO, gen2, or 1.2 as some call it)
- Resolve VCU

We have driven around already, the setup worked really well.
However, probably due to a CAN surge damage, there are several damaged components in the inverter. Resolve works well again.

Is it possible to "simply" replace the Nissan inverter with the Openinverter without changing the architecture and cabling ? Is there any programming that has to be adapted?
Any crucial aspects we should know for this transition?

we seem to understand that, since incoming communication fro the Resolve is CAN dialect, Openinverter should perfectly work. Output to the motor will work anyway.

This might be what you're looking for. I've not used this board and I'm not sure it would work with the resolve VCU.

Your easiest route is likely swapping out the oe Nissan inverter board. Someone here may have one collecting dust.
Things like dashboard need some more details to understand what's going on there.
