Hello everyone, my name is Eli. I also love starting projects and not finishing them.
My Dad has an old Land cruiser prado 1994 SX 3.0 Turbo with engine totally gone. Replacement engine is expensive with poor fuel mileage L/100km to be worth it. That’s where I come in with my madness.
I would like to do a hybrid.
For your information, am new to this, but I love to do it anyway.
So, I did some research around, where I can get the most power at a cheaper price is with Honda E- Drive Accord 2014-2021, Insight 2019-2021, CR-V 2020-2021, Clarity 2018-2021 Hybrid transaxle. WeberAuto with Professor John D. Kelly at WSU. Link at the botoom.
So here are the details;
MG1 - Generator 88 kW
MG2 - 135 kw 183.6 hp 315 Nm
Highlander MGR 50Kw 67hp 130Nm
Toyota 2ZR Engine 1.8L Turbo 103Kw 132hp 171Nm
Battery Diy with 320V Nom. 40 kWh
Not Toyota Hybrid because most of MG1 have 30-50kw, that’s too little power.
For the inverter and vcu, am tempted to go with Honda Accord Hybrid Power Control Unit (PCU).
Rated power 135kw
Nominal Voltage 320VDC boosting MG2 to 700VAC.
Liquid cooled
DBC file has ton of info, cheaper with tons of work.
Some nice information about the inverter viewtopic.php?t=1488
But I would like to add MGR to maintain the 4x4 or I get a 50/120kw solid rear axle.
So that’s where getting an open inverter or control board for the 3 motors (MG1 generator, MG2 and MGR) comes in. Or there’s a Chinese somewhere with an answer to my question.
But I know you can help my craziness come true.
