Forum Rules

Hello and welcome, you have found the Openinverter community, please treat it with respect and you shall get respect in return. Follow these rules/ guidelines and you won't have to worry. Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in a warning, suspension and then a ban, by joining this community you agree to abide by the following rules:
  1. The forum is not solely a support mechanism. You are responsible for your own project and education. The projects here are open source. That is contrary to the usual producer-consumer scheme. You are expected to contribute and you are not to expect anything from the developers who have already published everything they have, free of charge!
  2. Do not PM members without having a valid reason. Do never PM developers in hopes of a quicker answer
  3. Life is an ongoing education for everyone but respect the knowledge of experienced members who give their know how for free. Facts are not debatable.
  4. If asking a question, post sufficient context (the params.json file, json dump, pictures of your setup) before asking as you have a nonzero probability that anyone giving you a meaningful reply will swing right back at you asking for it. The complexity and therefore possible sources for issues grows as more configuration options and supported hardware is added. The more information, the easier and quicker it is to solve problems.
  5. In the event you have something that can be called drive-able conversion, but you have problems with anything High Voltage related and are encouraged by anyone to refrain from driving your project on open road, DON'T DRIVE the vehicle until a common understanding is established that it is safe.
  6. Use the search function. Chances are (especially if you are new) that others will have had the same problem and solution.
  7. Bullying will not be tolerated (that includes racism. If your name contains any racist, derogatory or defamatory terms (in any language) you will be banned from the community).
  8. You can return the favor to the OpenInverter community by logging on to the Wiki and updating the Wiki with any bits of information you got from the Q&A that may be missing in Wiki.
  9. Leave feelings and opinions at the door when asking for help. Most who offer support come from an engineering background, here facts are the only thing used to determine what is going on. Frustration is understandable but expressing it can sabotage fault finding
  10. The only hierarchy on this forum is based on contributions to the opensource ev cause. ie you will get what you give.
