Advice on charger for vag batteries

Post by jimmyq »

Hi guys im after some advice please.. i work on these cars repairs etc and getting some issues with dead or low batteries alot of the times i can close the contractors via diagnostics and charge the batteries but unfortunately when they go below a certain percent they will not charge ...

Is there a charger i can use to manually charge them direct etc?

I seen many chargers etc for toyota packs like

Anything for vag?

The theory says, that it is not a good idea to charge cells which went below a certain voltage thresholds. Because at low voltage, chemical things happen which cannot be reverted (https://electronics.stackexchange.com/q ... i-ion-cell)
So if the BMS has a reason to not charge it anymore, it's better to not overrule this.
Nevertheless, a solution could be to check the single cells, most likely there are a lot of good ones and some bad, and to make a new pack just of good ones.
