How to test this giant fuse?

Post by Tremelune »

I have a 300V 100A fuse (I think it's a Littelfuse JLLN 100) and I'm trying to figure out if it's good or blown or what.

I attached one end to a battery that read 12.5V and the voltage after the fuse was 2.7V. I measured resistance across it and my multimeter read about 23 MΩ. I'm not really sure what to make of these numbers...I'm much more familiar with 12V circuits.

The reason i ask is because I can't get my 2016 Zero FX to charge, and it's either this fuse or the charger itself. Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds to me like that fuse is blown.
If the fuse is not blown you should read 12.5V at boths sides of the fuse and the resistance across should be in milliohms.

You can try passing current through the fuse on the bench, but with your reported readings it sounds blown.
