For Sale: Hyundai Ioniq 5 battery pack modules

Post by cgalpin »

****** UPDATE - modules only. Pictures further in the thread *******

This is from a rear wheel drive Hyundai Ionic 5 with 124 miles on it - like new. It is composed of 30 modules, which are designed to be thermally managed by sitting on a coolant/heating plate (the entire bottom of the battery). Each module is made of 12 NMC811 pouch cells in 6S2P. 21.8V nominal (25.2V max), 2.41kW, 111.2Ah. I believe the batteries are by SK Innovations.

Individual module dimensions are:
without mounting tabs - 15.25"x5.25"x4.25"
with mounting tabs - 16 7/8"x6.25"x4.25"

The tabs overlap to allow bolting 2 together with a single bolt, so the effective width is really 5.75" not 6.25"

For example, a block of 4 you see in the picture is 22.25"x16 7/8"x4.25" including the tabs

Any of the major BMS should work with these. They have connectors exposing 7 pins so you can measure (and balance) all cells.

Located in Northern Virginia.
$6,000 for the full pack, $200/module

*I have additional components from this car if you are interested, such as the motor sub-assembly, ICCU, DC-DC convertor, CCS charge port and cabling, VCMS, high voltage junction box, etc.

Used is a big word; but there are commercial products making this pack useful for storage etc.

Sorry, I don't seem to be getting notifications, so did not see this. The module dimensions are

with mounting tabs - 16 7/8"x6.25"x4.25"

Last chance to buy a fully assembled pack. I will be pulling the modules and selling them individually for $200 each.

Canbus data shows the cells to be extremely well balanced and less than a a single full charge/discharge cycle of use.

Any of the major BMS should work with these. They have connectors exposing 7 pins so you can measure (and balance) all cells.

Sorry I am not getting notifications on this thread for some reason, and I have already mostly dismantled the last battery now. If you don't care about the battery chassis I can research shipping options if I pallet up the modules (would be something like 3x2x3'. If you want the chassis I think shipping is likely in the $800-1000 range from what I recall researching it when I first got them and I can bolt the modules back in and seal it back up, but I'd need payment before doing the work again, and I am dismantling them because they take up far less space this way and I need to room, so it would need to be soon :).

PM me if you want to discuss.

To be clear I have multiple packs, a total of 52 modules available at the moment (one full pack and 22 left from another)

FYI, I will be traveling from Northern Virginia to Dallas, TX the weekend of April 6/7, and could deliver or meet you along the way if that helps.
