SDU Board Firmware update or not to update?

Post by ardillolambo »

Folks,

Just following Damien's video "USING TESLA DRIVE UNITS WITH OPENINVERTER BOARD" A.K.A "How not to kill a Tesla Board" at the time the video was recorded the firmware version was 5.27.R-sine, mine is 5.20.R-sine...few parameters I don't have available or are hidden on my version na dobviously I can't modified them

- 11 (encmode)
- 13 (numimp)

Some other parameter have different #'s but I was able to find them and modified them as per Damien.

Based on Damien's comment about the parameter 11 "DONT CHANGE THAT OUT OF AB", I'll assume that on my version is fixed to AB and parameter 13 is also fixed.

Do you guys recommend to change my firmware to the greatest and latest? if so, how I do that

Regards,

Use the web interface to update. To do so, connect your laptop to "inverter" wifi and point browser to 192.168.4.1 and upload stm32_sine.bin from here https://github.com/jsphuebner/stm32-sin ... 2_sine.bin

I am in the same boat. My LDU board is 5.20. When you update the firmware are those 2 parameters now visible? Or should I just assume they are set correctly since they are hidden?

These are hidden on purpose because it makes no sense to change them
