Rear SDU lasterror: ENCODER

Post by nubster »

I just installed a V8 SDU board in a Rear SDU, and everything seems fine until I give it some pedal. It starts to spin but sounds terrible, and lasterror shows ENCODER. I found a few posts discussing the LDU and swapping the encoder wires. Could this also be the case in the rear small drive unit?

Also, the value of the udc doesn't look correct. It's showing ~83V when it's more like ~65V.

Firmware: 5.32.R-sine
rpm/fstat Plot:

Params:
RSDU.json
(1.63 KiB) Downloaded 31 times
Any advice on what to try next is much appreciated - thanks!

It means your parameters are far from what they should be, even the hidden encmode parameter is off. Use parameters from the database to fix

Yeah, the parameters from the DB did the trick. Thanks!

It's weird, I have a parameter file on my desktop that I swear I downloaded from the last SDU board I bought from the webshop. I must have somehow overwritten it with some other parameters. Can you tell what parameters I was using? Sorry to bother you with such an obvious oversight.

I was suspecting "reset to default" parameters but actually there are quite a lot of "SDU genes" in there. Mainly encode and numimp were completely off.

Hmm, yeah, that's definitely odd. I'm not sure how I managed to do that. OK, thanks again for helping me out so quickly.
