Those of you who have followed electric car conversions for longer than a decade know that the game has changed from using DC motors (from electric fork lifts for example) with controllers to using three phase AC motors instead. AC motors bring with them an extra layer of complexity requiring an additional apparatus called an inverter. So what is an Inverter and what does it do?
