Teardown Tesla Gen2 10 kW charger

Post by levelnull »

Hi,

did anyone actually take a Gen2 Charger apart?
I have 2 with one bad phase each here and thought I could make one perfect charger out of them. But damn, how do you get the phase modules out there?
I removed the cooling plate, but no additional screws there.

Probably need to unsolder the phase control module. But that would kill that project, I guess.

Thanks,
Marco

Well yes. If you would use both of them and only turn on individual phases... you could still use 3 phases.

There is a video from EVclinic where Vanja is refurbishing failed diodes on one gen3 unit:

Maybe you can contact him and ask for price of repair?

This one is for Gen2 i think...
