Based on the various units that have been disassembled/rebuilt, it appears that the LDU in 2012-2017ish Model S/X was the same mechanically, with only the inverter IGBTs and capacitors changing between the Base and Sport units. Being that it's Tesla, and they change stuff all the time, it's entirely possible that there are variations out there we have not yet discovered.
If at first you don't succeed, buy a bigger hammer.

I could imagine that the stator of the Sport Unit has a smaller number of windings. How else could a higher current flow at the same voltage? A comparative resistance measurement could confirm this. Does anyone have values for one or the other unit?

They sell individual Tesla components here:
https://stock-tesla.com/en/index.php?ro ... t_id=45120

Many people here in the forum have broken Tesla engines where the rotor is OK. Mane2 for example. Try an ad in classified
