Greetings all!
I am interested in repurposing a Prius battery and inverter setup to power an IMA unit for a hybrid V6 project.
I am unfamiliar with the configurability of the OpenInverter firmware, so hopefully someone can comment whether the IMA unit can be made to work with OpenInverter?
I guess the question is how many volts the Prius C inverter puts out.
As far as I understand, the v6 IMA from the 05-07 Accord Hybrid runs on 110v, but the EPA did testing and cranked it up to 200 which with the right cooling, it can do for sustained periods. In any case, the 20hp/110tq increase in power to the ICE unit is quite attractive for our race car.
Hopefully someone can chime in with their experience using OpenInverter on IMA hardware or if that's even a supported scenario.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Accord v6 IMA motor and OpenInverter
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
So it looks like Romale was able to get lebowski to work with the IMA inverter - cool! (At 530v no less!)
I wonder how different the inverter is for the v6 version as it is much larger.
A concern I have here is that the batteries used for the v6 IMA originally are NIMH, at 115v. I would like to double this voltage at minimum.
Would OpenInverter allow me to switch to using LI-Ion or other battery types? Capacitors perhaps?

Heres a heap of info on the Accord V6’s IMA motor
