ah well i did not realize that, I am only interested in 6000 rpm or less. What is the efficiency like with FOC?
If I don't need the battery voltage boosted it would be a lot simpler...

Because you want to use other cells that make up a smaller battery pack and need to get the module you want to use above 207V.evMacGyver wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 5:43 pm Why would you like to boost battery voltage higher? I'm not familiar with Prius transaxle, but I'm pretty sure you don't need higher voltage even to reach top RPM from both MGs. For comparison GS450h will get 10000rpm at 250V.

Where have you seen the GS450H get to 10000rpm at 250V?evMacGyver wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 5:43 pm Why would you like to boost battery voltage higher? Sure, I answered to johnspark plan "I would like to use the boost converter to top up my ~300V battery to 350 V" which is more likely not needed and would limits output power.blackjmyntrn wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 11:09 pm Because you want to use other cells that make up a smaller battery pack and need to get the module you want to use above 207V.
I should have tested max rpm when my battery was even below 200V at low SOC. I did not have problems on normal road speeds when MG2 is designed for efficiency and kept below 5000rpm at high gear. This 250V and 10krpm is rough estimate from GS450h BEMF voltage, not accurate value.
