Does anyone have any information about the rear mitsubishi outlander motor and how the rest of rear axle is fixed.

I think the mitsubishi outlander motor can fit at the front of my van....I will study this possibility

Hi,

I found more information for the mitsubishi outlander, so...
- is it true there is to electric motor, one for each axles?
- it seems the weight of each is 40 kg, true?
- I didn't found a lot of information about the battery, weight and I'm sure it's 30 KW.

If anyone have some information, it will be perfect.

Yes Outlander actually has three motors. In the front there are two motors inside transmission connected to gas engine.
In the back there is a single 60kW motor and inverter. This is more suited to conversion of small cars because of its size and compact gearbox.

So it's meaning this solution seems not the best for my van, too heavy.

Maybe I need to consider to do that with the Lexus electric gearbox....

It would be too heavy if you took only the rear motor of Outlander? Motor + inverter less than 100kg (same for Toyota transaxle). Lexus transmission alone is in the 120kg range? Also if weight is your main concern then the heaviest part would be batteries.

I belive motor and gearbox has 60kg. Inverter has to be like 12kg so we are well under 100kg.
Where do you plan to put the batteries?

What is your practical application for the van? Do you intend to use it to ride around the country or do you intend to park it and use it as a summer house? You can use battery as power source for summer home like that.

When I wrote too heavy it was not the engine but for my van, I think my van it's maybe too heavy for the outlander.

Now I'm not sure if the two electric motor of the outlander are enough powerful for my van. It's why thought maybe use the Lexus electric gearbox???

Of course weight is important!!! So for the moment I'm studying all the possibilities.

In my project I would like to buy a scrap car, something broken, take what I need and sell the rest. Because I don't have a lot of money.

For the battery I have two spaces, in mm, 140x700x1600 and 140x700x1000, so enough, I think!! I'd checked on Alibaba just to have an idea and I found a model of lithium Ion battery : 3,2v - 105Ah - 201x131x37.2 mm. So 240 cells can be fit 😂😂😂

The future application will be traveling. For this project I thought to install 2kwh of solar panels and 2 other kWh when we are parked, I know is not enough for charge all but it can help.
