Re: The LandYacht BMW E39 Saloon
Inverter fitted. Collected the modified driveshaft and its a perfect fit. Spent yesterday on wiring integration with the VCU so with luck first wheel spins next week. Am in the process of sourcing a VW onboard charger so will need to hack that and with a bit of luck will make a new vcu module to run it.

Looking good. Curious on the charger change - current charging needs an upgrade?

Well part of why I build cars is as test beds for things I'm developing or hacking. Noticed there are very few options for low power on board AC charging so decided to give the VW a go as they are plentiful and cheap. May as well use the E39 for testing and development.

I saw VW Golf/Passat GTE hybrid inverter had DCDC converter inside. Very compact that one.
I dont know if ID has the same arrangement though.

Getting nearer. Added the CAN to the Zom VCU today to make the gear display work. Yacht now thinks she's an auto:)

Made a little more progress on the E39. PCS wired in and cooling system refilled and bled. Getting near a first drive.
