So first EV-project, prototype platform to try out ll the different things I want to learn about.
The dream is to start at company in Sweden to convert old cars into EVs
about the vehicale
Old barnfind 70s landrover 103, quite rusty.
Motor: kia E-niro or lexus gs 300h
inverter: prius gen 2 with prius openinvter CPU
battery: currently an old nissan leaf 24Kwh with 73% SOH
First ide is to try out the Kia E-niro motor to se if it can drive the car directly with the diff-ration of 4.88, if that does not work we'll go with the Lexus gearbox.
currently motor and battery are on the chassi, and I'm soldering all connectors for battery and stuff.
Pictures coming

Re: rat rover 103
Your car choice certainly violates the first rule of EV conversions: Don't start with a rust bucket that you spend more time on fixing rust holes than actually performing the conversion
With direct drive you'll possibly have problems with lack of torque at low speeds.

Re: rat rover 103
For a 70s Land Rover that's in pretty good condition!
Is that just going to be front wheel drive for the initial test? Had any thoughts on hand brake replacement now you are losing the transfer box.
You could try and put in an LT230 transfer box from the Defender, would give you 4 wheel drive and some more reduction options, as well as solve the handbrake replacement.
