I am currently travelling in Sweden. We are staying close to Tanumshede right now and will be travelling northwards via E45. Next stop is Årjäng and finally Östersund.
All is fine until there because there are enough CHAdeMO fast chargers on the way. But my boost mode charger has blown its output caps and I need to replace it. Is there anybody on said route who has a 100-220uF 450V low-ESR cap and tools handy?

Re: Emergency Repair needed! (Sweden)
Happened to me once. Inverter cap overheated. I used 2p2s pack from my charger to get me underway. I needed to drop my speed a lot though.johu wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 6:05 pm I am currently travelling in Sweden. Why does it sound like heart surgery?
Hm... Are there any junkyards with EV parts on the way? You coud take apart yaris gen3 inverter and use its plastic cap. It is quite small and capable enough...

Re: Emergency Repair needed! (Sweden)
On the other hand i did run my EMW charger without output caps. I only used dc contactor and diode on the positive output. Diode keeps battery from fully seeing IGBT.
Battery was fine with it. Even seemed more alive.
True i was using it 3phase but i think your Li cells can handle some ripple. Not to full charge but to 4V per cell they should be fine...

I have a few c4de caps here. Could overnight to somebody along the way?
I'm going to need a hacksaw

Thanks for your replies. I think I'll get it sorted in Östersund. Until then I should find sufficient CHAdeMO coverage. We've made it to Årjäng now.

Re: Emergency Repair needed! (Sweden)
We have arrived in Östersund (just, see holiday thread) after 1500 km. Now can fix it. Running without cap didn't work, I guess because of EMI. Either the charger cuts out or the car tells the charger to stop. It works well with buck chargers, but not boost.
