Leaf Gen1 battery swap

Post by Greenbeast »

I see firms are offering this now, where do we stand on diy swapping a 24 to 40kWh pack?

Did a quick search and nothing immediately popped up here.

I'm looking at getting a Leaf as a daily driver in the next few months, with my conversion project on the back burner for now.

It is possible to buy the can bridge only and then swap it yourself.

I'm not sure how much of this will help but it is interesting.

I've just done this myself and will make a video on the process. As usual there are quite a few "hidden" technical issues that are not discussed.

So... Did you swap for the 30kwh battery or another battery?
I am preparing to swap Volt gen2 battery in our Ampera to extend range. It will include BMS tansplant too.

I've done the 40kWh swap into a Gen1 as well.
Used the Muxsan MITM hardware to support it.
Half a day's work tops and well worth the effort.
