Tesla LDU on a 300hp boat donor motor

Post by Costin J »

Hello from Romania!

I have build two electric boats with Tesla modules but now i am close to powering up the Tesla LDU that i cut and modify in order to install it on a proper boat donor motor.

So what do you think about this LDU on a boat? :) 350 Volts. I have a lot of photos with the modified drive unit but the project has to be public only after an event, in about 2 weeks.

Thank you for all your work!

J.

it had a simple test at 306 V, does not allow power even with full throttle, plot ok for temp, direction, throttle (nissan leaf), it just slowly turns fwd/reverse ok, one error of overcurrent, but that was just precaution (50 amp), so i guess i have an encoder problem? thanks! i just love how it turned out, curious to see if interference because i cut the inverter bell, but i guess not :) It has plexiglass. I have to test again tommorow

Just AWESOME !

That just shows how easy it is to mod electric motors to other uses. Try doing that with a ICE car motor.

Very cool project and idea!
Any opinions are my own, unless stated otherwise. I take no responsibility if you follow my way of doing things and it doesn't work. Please double check with someone who knows what they are doing.
