Running gen3 prius inverter without it's metal enclosure
Hi. So I've been running gen3 prius inverter in my car. But since I have decided to add more battery and more charging power I ran out of space. The space that I have left is odly shaped and is too shallow for prius inverter as it is. I am wondering if I strip the prius inverter of it's casing and divide it into 3 pieces (inverter, main cap, dcdc) which I will wire together with extension wires and enclose everything in different box would it be safe to run it like that? Anybody has dismantled the inverter and have any photos how it comes apart? Thanks!

Runnig the Toyota inverters with out there casing will result in emitting more noise, the casing is also a enclosed screen around the whole inverter. Will work but might give problems in other sensitive equipment in the car or close by the car.
Separating the inverter from the DC/DC will proably work without issues.
Separating main cap from the inverter and using cables in between is a bad idea as this will induce a lot of inductance into the circuit. The reason the cap is placed on top of the inverter in the first place is to reduce the lenght of the conductors and thereby keeping inductance to a minimum.
