About to spin for the 1st time, but how to properly turn OFF the system

Post by ardillolambo »

Folks,
This may sound really stupid, but I need to make sure, nobody in its right mind wants to fry an Inverter...so
I already followed Damien's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvlzGm709zg and I have everything set up to start spinning the motor for the 1st time at a 56 volts DC, but what is the "procedure" to safely turn OFF the system without damaging the inverter outside of bench testing, during normal operation. I tried to find some videos, but nobody talks about that.

Regards,

Just wait until the motor has coasted/regenned down, then cut power both LV and HV

As long as the motor is not spinning, and no throttle is applied (ideally in neutral) then it's safe to disconnect the HV.

You can turn off the HV first, or the HV and LV simultaneously.
