Exactly.
I'm using the version straight from the Teensy installer, which I think is Paul Stoffregen's work.

Re: Main contactors dropping out when motor rotating, regen.
Hi Forum. I had an interesting development last evening where my 12v battery dipped under load and caused my main contactors to drop out when braking. Consequently thus generated power (??) from the Tesla had no where to go and destroyed (dramatically) the TVS I had fitted. I sorted the issue with ...

Re: Teensy Flexcan Canbus mailboxes
This stuff is pretty complicated! I ended up using setCallback for this purpose. Can1.setRXFilter(0, 0x520, 0x7f0, false);//filter for ISA - this accepts 520 through 52F Can1.setRXFilter(1, 0, 0, false); Can1.setCallback(1, handleChademoCan); And the function that the callback calls back to: void ha...

Re: TESLA SDU Inverter Temp Derating limit
I had similar issues with quick overheats. It seems to be a simple ballpark number; raising it to 100 caused me no issues in the short term (as in, made the change last week) and is helping performance. Make sure you don't have any air in the system either!

Curl just sends messages or files to a specified URL. In this case, it's sending "DELETE" to the 192.168.4.1 page.

Yup, that would be a blown inverter phase. Blowing while coasting -- that's really weird.

Re: Dyno Tuning LDU
I had similar issues when my Tesla inverter was overheating due to large quantities of air in the loop - it would hit the temperature limit and shut off, then come back on quickly. Might be helpful to take a look at the motor and inverter temps, see if they rise quickly on power?

Re: Leaf BMS with other battery packs
I have a Leaf BMS that i intended to use with different batteries in the stock 96s config, monitoring via Leaf Spy. This news about it not being able to balance is concerning. Any more info Isaac? I used a Leaf BMS for some time with a stock pack. I was never able to figure out exactly how it chose...

Re: MEB motor and inverter (ID.3, ID.4, Eniaq, etc.)
I checked! Apparently not, they prefer a VIN 'to ensure correct fitment' but there's no issue throughout the order process. I won't actually purchase one (or three) but I got this far.

Orion or Dilithium are where it's at these days. Either will run you $1200 or so for 80 cells. Consider trying to snag a Volt battery instead if you have the space?
Do you have a source for the Malibu battery?

Pretty sure it's not quite a 'torque request' in terms of a certain pedal position equals a certain torque -- we hit field weakening and the max torque decreases but the pedal still behaves the same way.

Hybrid -- makes sense.
Usable? Not sure. Maybe it's Chevy's limiting so that the battery lasts longer -- it's quite possible that if you are willing to tolerate reduced life you could use at least 1kWh.

Re: Chevy Malibu Hybrid battery
What's your build? That's a pretty tiny battery - 1.5kWh would get you about 5 miles in anything but a motorcycle. (And only 450Wh is actually usable!!)
Yes, it could probably be charged off 240. You'd need to talk to the BMS, most likely via CAN, to be sure cells stay balanced.

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
Mhhhh that' might be a challenge I think. The LIM doesn't know it's VIN or the car configuration right now, Charger type etc. the solution might be doable though (grab copy of tools and a i3 etc.) Or the LIM is not that 'smart' and gets it's data all over CAN and will be happy to translate ... 8-) ...

As ZooKeeper said. You can either use a proper charger or just a simple lab power supply - those have both current and voltage control so they charge batteries safely, also they're generally useful for EV conversion work.

Re: Question re./ CANBus Ack conventions
It seems to be low level, yes. A CAN controller can also be configured to 'silent' mode where it will not send ACK bits -- this can be useful if you don't want to disturb a system but still want data. The MCP2515 will go into an error state if it does not receive any ACK bits after 255(?) messages -...

When you flash, choose "Erase Flash: Sketch + Wifi Settings" -- that may or may not help.

Re: whats the difference between openinverter and others? - leaf
Openinverter is for cool kids who want complete control of the motor. As in, control the power going to each wire. This requires tuning -- lots of it. And often some software work. Resolve and thunderstruck controllers both do CAN control of the original inverter, so they are limited to the OEM powe...

Re: Leaf BMS with other battery packs
Leaf BMS will work for monitoring (its balance capabilities are limited and strange). IIRC all units are the same, there may be some changes in the internal serial communication but CAN seems identical. Connectors and crimps -- generally one just buys a harness off Ebay. Be careful with your cell wi...

I'm trying to make my own interface for Chademo controller (slightly modifying the GS450h interface). I have some Wemos D1 clones (the sort which are all over ebay) which are not working well.
