Re: Open source CCS using AR7420

Found the problem. The maximum voltage was sent wrong based on the configured value 270V. We fixed the code to send the value gotten from chademo and it charges now as proven by a multi minute test session. There are some remaining questions about how to handle the maximums reported by the charger.

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

I can imagine one option would be to get a batch made of some sort of compact carrier boards without the mcu or anything "extra", to concentrate supply issues to an otherwise trivial board, and then more leisurely develop mcu+i/o boards that can utilize it without any other hard to find pa...

Re: VW Touran powered by Nissan Leaf [FINISHED]

The Leaf motor is a permanent magnet motor though. I don't think the magnets can handle 170°C.

Re: VW Touran powered by Nissan Leaf [FINISHED]

What do you think is a reasonable maximum temperature for the motor? In the Previa, I have have the battery and motor/inverter coolant loops running in parallel through the big original radiator. The problem then becomes in high speed summer driving (e.g. 120km/h uphill at >25°C) that the motor star...

Re: Tesla's NACS and the Future of Fast Charging in North America

It seems to me NACS is basically CCS2 with a different physical connector, so that's not an issue. However you bring a good point about payments. I hope Tesla activates payment via app for all EVs in the US like it has done in Europe. While Europe is better positioned for this as Tesla uses CCS2 her...

Re: 1992 Toyota Previa with Leaf stuff and lots of Tesla batteries

Apeldoorn was the only Tesla Supercharger site that didn't work, out of probably more than 20 so far. We switched to a Tritium Veefil PK by Shell there nearby.

You sometimes have to switch stalls on Superchargers though, due to melted plugs or otherwise inoperable stalls.

Re: 1992 Toyota Previa with Leaf stuff and lots of Tesla batteries

Long story short: I was planning a road trip around central Europe with the Omega, but just in the final days before the trip it started acting up and killing vital components, so I set up CCS in the Previa instead, got new tyres and the paperwork and set it up as a mini camper all in like 2 days an...

It might make sense to just use paths relative to the script file location. Do this at the beginning of the script: dir="$( cd "$( dirname "${BASH_SOURCE[0]}" )" && pwd )" And then just use paths like "$dir"/log/$date"_pevNoGui.log Then the paths ...

Yes I did. The procedure you should follow is: - Pick a "katsastusasema". Preferably one that is popular with car enthusiasts. - Ask them for list of things that need to be done, rules to be followed and things that will be checked - Remember to follow the axle mass and power limitations o...

Re: Open source CCS using AR7420

The final log for the day. It is a 1020 second log, of a succesful charging session, where no DHCP requests can be found. I think I'm set for a new attempt at the Tesla Supercharger. That'll be for another day though. Overall this is definitely the smarter method to this. Always test changes on this...

I agree the most interesting thing surely is going to be how you're going to fit the model 3 modules both in terms of space and also in terms of weight. They're 2 meters long and weigh about 400kg total.
