Anyone here willing to write a step by step, start to finish, "for idiots" version of how to get this module programmed to work with the GS4540h VCU (big ask, I know)?

Re: HOWTO: Flashing ESP8266
Long time no see :) Yesterday I've flashed ESP8266-12E using nothing more than FTDI232(cheap USB-TTL, yet has got everything needed onboard), two 10k resistors and one 100MkF capacitor. No additional power supplies. I don't know why people say it need strong power supply. There are a lot of manuals ...

Re: Something on the wheels.
When I've watched Damien installed MGR into BMW subframe I desided to go same way: to cut my BMW driveschafts and Lexus driveschafts and weld them together.... and then I've found out how much E30 parts cost here in Belarus  I desided to leave them as is and sell later. Insteard I've bought t...

Re: Toyota MGR Rear Traction Transaxle
Interestin observation: I've connected my second MGR to inverter without changing any parameter and it spins :) It jitters but doesn't run away. So that means for MGR you can start syncofs tuning from 22000 and just tune it a little for motor to run smoothly. Video is in Russian, but there is nothin...

Awesome build! I as well want to make an RWD conversion... unfortunately car like this and even older ones costs ridiculously expensive here.

You're the second person I've seen this week use copper pipe to make crimped cable ends. Nice! Look closely how factory cable ends are made. Those being sold at electronics shops. They are also pressed from pipes. Off topic: desided not to cut drive schafts, but bought two hub assemblys from RX400h...

What is the PCD of the BMW flange? It's 80,1mm. Unfortunately for now I haven't got my own lathe. Flange I've designed was pretty similar to yours. Lathe operator said it would be expensive one. To cut MGR flange and weld BMW one to it would be cheaper, yet the most cheap way was to buy two drive s...

Re: Toyota MGR Rear Traction Transaxle
I was trying to design an adapter plate wich could be bolted to MGR output flange on one end and to BMW CV housing on the other end. Almost immidietly realised that it is impossible, or adapter plate must be thic and over complicated. So I see two ways: cut MGR flange and weld BMW flange to it. Not ...

I believe Johu himself explained somewhere in Prius Gen2 Inverter thread that output current is more then dc input current. Why is there a massive capacitor hooked up to Inverter in a first place

Re: Something on the wheels.
Little update: My MGR, powered by Gen3 inverter and v1c board now spins good in both directions. I've tried to design adapter plates to connect unmodified BMW driveschafts directly to MGR's outputs, but for this to happen, they need to be 10cm in length, which is unacceptable. So i'll go the same wa...

Re: The Blue Yacht : E39 + Lexus MGR
So I found a potential source of connectors for the MGR. I happened to have 3 Gen 2 prius battery to inverter plugs. Massaged off the plastic with a mallet and got 3 nice large connectors that fit the MGR terminals perfectly. Wouldn't be surprised if they were the same part. I've tried to just pull...

Little off-topic here: The latest 35-way connector housing design fits perfectly to gen3 inverter: 20200926_105116.jpg 20200926_104959.jpg It is not utilising original red sealant, instead you can fit there any rubber band or air-cured silicone sealant. 20200926_104718.jpg For the original adapter p...

Damien's box of goodies, which he sent me, contained Johu's gen2 board, but there was no modice case included... :? About that resolver connection: If, after syncofs tuning, your motor will run good in one direction but run away in other, try to swap ground and positive wires of sine or cosine detectors MSNG<>MSN, MCSG<>MCS. Damien helped me with this hint, when I've stuck with FOC tuning.

I would *think* that using the "same" hardware, Prius G2, MGR + VCU should return similar, if not same syncof settings. If I recall Paul Holmes had one spinning quite nicely... Correction, yes he did :) I'm pretty shure that resolver calibration plug and three retaining bolts situated on ...

Flipped all diodes on the board. Now Led2 glows, but Led1 is not. WiFi also powered up.
Shuld led1 glow if board is not flashed?
