Re: Tesla Motor Spinning
Ok well for now i'm gonna try the opensource board. The Tesla software solution is a hard one to get perfect. In fact there are parameters to be send to the drive units about drag coeff and mass of the vehicle etc. etc. And if you don't have manual of what it does with the unit.... So i bit the bull...

Mounting the Board, de-soldering the current sensors..:x
Ok so i bit the bullet and went with the opensource inverter. I figured that its way more fun to share experience with you guys then ending up with a software solutions which can't (or verry difficult) be tweaked anyway or used to its maximum potential anyway. Also the primary reason (EMC) is not th...

- More CANBUS less WiFi
- C# GUI??
If i get the toolchain running i will start converting my inverter

Well it's just that i'm not that fit in toolchain setups and operating systems etc.
Yeah, i already downloaded everything. Now i need a toolchain.
And not only the compiler. Which IDE do you use?

Eeekss..... i hoped on a arduino style toolchain. Can't imagine that isn't available for a STM32 MCU...
Nobody went the Visual Code and arm-none-eabi way of doing things then....
Think i will crank up a VM then

Re: Tesla Motor Spinning
In the large drive unit the fpga was used to decode the sigma delta current sensors and provide anti commutation on the pwm signals. I looked at doing this and in fact designed a version of both boards with an fpga onboard but really what was the point. You can do anti commutation with a few nand g...

Re: Tesla Motor Spinning
No, i mean live making that filter list. So when you open the file it fills a list, but then you can check a checkbox and every CAN ID which it sees on the bus is then checked and added in that filter list for ya. It's the typical use case what you describe. It saves the work of going through log fi...

Re: Parameter database
Shouldn't we use svn or git in this design? Comparing files becomes then easy and version administration is included.
Perhaps we can build an interpreter for the differences and for storage of the individual parameters and for storage git and then save the git link with the user.

I was wondering which toolchain is needed to compile the code for the inverter?
Perhaps elaborate on it and make this a sticky.
Then we are a small step closer to participating

Hi, Did you manage to get it working? Do you have site or blog of your project :) since i'm from the netherlands too i'm very interested. When you connect the device, which messages does it send out? I will check if i can find something. I have something but i need to know what it sends out right no...

Re: Tesla Motor Spinning
I appreciate your concerns but the existing board shall not stand in your way to publish your findings in detail The thing is its like Damian says. Allot of CAN messages just hours of fidling. Wrestling with CRC checks. They used a couple of variants in there. And then, in the end, you are able to ...

Re: Tesla Motor Spinning
Hmm, I reckon the boards in the openinverter shop are Tesla compatible, no? Yes, but not when used in a Tesla, software wise i mean. So i figured that if we would add full canbus support and map it to your program we basically have a Tesla replacement part. Offcourse we would have to deal with diff...

Re: Looking for a BMS System to work with smart car 17kwh battery
I'm not really into this big time. But there are like different style and design tactics regarding BMSes. Usually bikes and power tools use the type in your link. Those types allow to cut off the complete power to and from the cells. They will cut it out when over or under voltage. Now in cars the s...

Re: Tesla Motor Spinning
I wasn't serious :) Anyway i really admire your skills Damian i think you are one of a few. We should disrupt the market with the sharing experience the only thing what can happen is that people start sharing too and then perhaps in the end it doesn't make sense to buy an openinverterboard? Anyway i...

Re: Tesla Motor Spinning
Mhhh do i taste a bit of bitterness?? :P Sadly the small drive unit was not that easy. Also i dont had a car (model S) or car logs (from a recent model S D). I just bought the drive unit from the junk yard. Now on my route to victory i indeed stumbled across the IMMO problem. I solved that part, in ...

Wanted to let everyone know that i made the Tesla Small drive unit spinning on the bench with its original parts in it. Looking for OEM options
I was wondering, perhaps also interesting for the WIKI perhaps:
Is it possible to make a list of known usable/controllable BMSes in current OEM vehicles.
I know the leaf can be used which are options are more?
The reason i ask is that reusing an existing part has advantages for EMC documentation.

Zapatero here on the forum had his Leaf based conversion certified in Ulm. Try reaching out to him. Ok, i will wait until you have them in the shop then.

I have a question tough. What about EMC has somebody used the board and succesfully succeded?
