Re: Sound for EVs "AVAS"

I bought a system from Kufatec. It is usually used in the tuner scene to make modern vehicles louder. After a few conversations with Kufatec I had a firmware with the ability to specify RPM, load and speed via CAN bus. My display controller receives the data from the drive unit and prepares it for t...

Sound for EVs "AVAS"

An acoustic vehicle alerting system is mandatory for new electric cars, at least in Germany. I want to install a gasoline engine-like sound in my car. Not very loud, a pleasant automatic V8 sound, matching for my car from the early 50s. something like that, but less modern: https://www.youtube.com/w...

Re: official approval regarding original trans-axle / German TÜV

It's just like an automatic transmission. A switch for (P) R N D and an accelerator pedal (Gas). If this is not safe enough, you can set that R and D are only activated when the brake pedal is depressed. After switching on the ignition, a start button must also be pressed to close the main contactor...

Re: official approval regarding original trans-axle / German TÜV

In the info sheet there is nothing about whether only the engine or engine and transmission are converted. Information sheet 751 must be observed for safety-related changes. In my view, there is nothing to be said against the complete motor gear unit.

Re: EV car conversion hardware

I have a similar problem, I need longer cables on the motor. My 70mm² cable has a larger outer diameter than the AWG 2/0. I will make stainless steel parts to make it fit.

Re: Peugeot 406 coupe Pininfarina with Leaf motor and Ampera inverter [FINISHED]

After everything i read in the forum i am happy to be in Germany. In England it seems to be difficult to be classified as EV, in France everything has to be certified for a lot of money, in Switzerland you cannot have more performance than the original car. We have an information sheet from the TÜV ...

[WIP] 1950 Mercury Lead sled

Hello Together, I want to introduce you to my project here. I didn't start with the intention of building an electric car, but wanted to have a cool 1950s Ford Mercury. In Germany there are good and bad vintage cars. The good ones are original, cost little tax and insurance and are allowed to drive ...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread

A general question, can the BMS reduce the performance of the LDU to avoid deep charging or not to exceed the maximum voltage when regenerating. Or is that guaranteed by the limitations in the inverter software?

Does this work with tom's simp BMS? Are 1000A correct for a Tesla LDU and a Model3 battery with fast charge?
If so, i would take one!

Re: Tesla LDU traction control thread

Then the way to go is a controller that measures the front wheel speeds, the throttle and the brake pedal position and receives the CAN signal for the LDU speed. From this, the value for pot and pot2 is determined and sent to the LDU via the can bus. The main thing is the speed difference between th...

Re: Tesla LDU traction control thread

I've currently implemented this in a separate controller (VCU) also on STM32. It sends the power limits to the inverter via CAN. I do consider porting this onto the inverter. what possibilities are there to limit the power of the LDU. Do I have to manipulate the signals from pot and pot2 or can I l...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Battery Hacking

Do you think i can rearrange the module as shown. The order of the boards remains, but the HV part is different. The reason for this is that I want to stack the short modules on top of the Long ones so that they fit between the frame rails.

Re: VW eGolf hardware

I have an air conditioning compressor from a Passat GTE. That should be the same as in E_Golf and Golf GTE. It is available from € 100 and is controlled by a LIN bus. So far I haven't been able to figure out what to send. The boudrate is 19600. Does someone have a car where to read the signal?

Hello Damien, I had the same problem. My solution is 3D printing. The contacts for 400V are Uni F630 from MTA, part number 1107940. For 12V Kostal PLK 14.5, part number 23124734300. The connector for the data is from TE connectivity, part number 1318774-1 for white or 1318774-2 for black. The Europe...
