Re: Step Down (Buck) charge v3 o.i. does not work
In step down mode the inverter simply doesn't know the battery voltage because it can only measure rectified mains voltage on the DC bus. It means you need some external mechanism to stop charging when the battery is full. this hint had its positive effect, thank you so much for your help! now, if ...

Re: Step Down (Buck) charge v3 o.i. does not work
ah, there is a different precharge setting because the DC bus is run at a higher voltage than your low voltage battery. The parameter is called "udcswbuck" does this mean that an inverter that does not know how to measure the battery voltage will not be able to use the step-down mode? I u...

Re: Step Down (Buck) charge v3 o.i. does not work
you can test it just on the table without connecting a real battery, motor and input high voltage. it is enough to take the v3 board, apply +12 to the main power supply, turn on the "downgrade" charging setting and simultaneously apply +12 to "forward" and "backward", i...

Re: Step Down (Buck) charge v3 o.i. does not work
Indeed I haven't used buck mode in a long time. What inverter are you running it on and have you wired it correctly? https://openinverter.org/wiki/Battery_Charging I used boost mode on all my inverters (Honda IMA, Nissan leaf 2) and it works fine even at 75 amps input current!!! This time I have an...

Re: Inverter Firmware 5.27.R
Any idea on the above? switching to neutral when switching off the sw forward should clearly work immediately, regardless of what the motor speed is (isn't that the case now?) but the reverse gear, when turned on, turns on at speeds below those specified in the value (it seems to work like that, I ...

Step Down (Buck) charge v3 o.i. does not work
I have always used boost mode to charge the battery from the mains via a diode bridge. this is a great thing! but now I have a low-voltage battery and I wanted to use the down mode. however, after I supply +12 to the power supply of the inverter and turn it on both forward and backward at the same t...

Re: Outlander rear motor and inverter
I did some research, main capacitor is 700uF 450V and IGBT module is MBB600TV6A, which is 650V 600A. It sounds to me that there could be potential to deliver more than 70kW with good cooling. in the nissan leaf gen 2 inverter, there are also power IGBT modules for 600 volts and 600 amps. at the sam...

Re: Rear Wheel Transaxle Options (Tesla SDU, Leaf, Prius, etc)
Ah Matt, no rumours and myths ;) sources? Prius larger power stage is capable of, optimistically 500A (peak!) and Leaf Gen2 of 1000A. The latter manages 140 kW@360V before it desats. Half the current -> half the power. Unless you run a 600V battery or something. I will add: the Nissan leaf gen2 inv...

been to design a board that will mount on short standoffs over the original pcb and have very short jumpers going to the gate drives, current sensors, and bus voltage feedback. I use Honda ima + brain v3 OI inverters very widely. but I have not yet been able to find a point at which the native inve...

Re: My Car tried to Kill me today (1973 Beetle +SDU Conversion), Potential Cruise Control Bug ?
I've always put a brake line switch on the front wheel of my motorcycles. this made it possible to block the front and anneal the rubber by warming up the rear wheel. the simplest and most reasonable solution.

Re: My Car tried to Kill me today (1973 Beetle +SDU Conversion), Potential Cruise Control Bug ?
no, if the cruise is turned off, then the behavior of the motor is adequate and the reaction to the gas pedal and the brake pedal is correct. however, this is not exactly a Nissan leaf motor. this is the EM57 motor from Nissan note e-power. I tried to drive yesterday and very often got overcurrent, ...

Re: My Car tried to Kill me today (1973 Beetle +SDU Conversion), Potential Cruise Control Bug ?
as for the new changes for the purpose of cruise safety, my personal opinion is that they are redundant. as my experience has shown, it is enough that pressing the brake or turning on the neutral cancels the cruise even if it is pressed with a lock, and it is restarted only after the cruise button i...

I remind you, the purpose of this experience was to check if the cruise button initially stuck in the pressed state at the topikstarter?? that's why I closed my button and performed all the tests, including the controller with the cruise button pressed in advance.

The behavior of the controller was very interesting! firstly, as soon as I pressed pot1, the motor started...

When transistioning to strong regen at speed field weakening would collapse and cause really strong regen. Does catch itself but still not good. I simply increased vlimmargin from 2000 to 4000 and that fixes it. still, an adequate description of all these parameters would not hurt, then the users (...
