Re: Zombieverter & GS450H Communication Issues Investigation
Do you have a physical connection between invert case (gnd) and system ground? Ideally, ground every bit of electrics apart from your HV to the inverter case. Your +, -, Gnd connections on the PSU are ok, just treat '-' as your ground. Connecting your PSU to a car battery, and then to the inverter w...

There is (I'm 99% sure) a 'history' function, so any changes can be blamed on the correct victim can be reverted if needed

Re: What tools and equipment are recommended for working on a conversion?
My cheapy LHT00SU1 + pulseview has been fantastic. Several digital channels (pulseview supports various protocols) plus 1 analogue (-10 - +10V from memory). No good for HV stuff, but great for the low voltage side. Plus, if you plug it into a laptop and unplug the laptop charger, it becomes isolated...

Re: Toyota's electric power steering motor
Given the (likely) low power of the motor, the easiest way of driving it would probably be a largeish RC brushless speed controller. Most of them run sensorless (no need for the resolver) which would probably be fine unless you need precise low speed control. If you want/need to use the resolver, an...

Three thick wires, four thin wires? Sounds like a 3 phase motor with a resolver

Got a vacuum bleeder? Or a pressure bleeder? I know it shouldn't be needed, but makes things a lot easier, especially when the system's dry.

Re: IPM Motor Simulation and FOC Software
It does all depend on what Vq (etc) actually is, doesn't it.. I must admit, I'm totally lost :-) Kv is normally defined as a ratio of peak (battery) voltage and rpm but it's more of a 'laymans' unit rather than proper SI. Peak/battery voltage makes sense to me, but it seems these things are quite of...

It's amazing these things work as well as they do with all the gunge in there. Fixable with a clean and new seal kit?

Re: Reducing noise of electric vehicle inverter?
The ultimate solution would be changing the pwm frequency continuously, generating (white?) noise instead of a fixed pitch tone. But that would need massive changes to the Open Inverter code...

If there is to be another release, lines 406 and 407 in mainwindow.cpp should set Vb and Vc I think (current sets Va to 0 three times )

Careful not to trample on the wifi stack, safest just to leave that core alone if you're relying on OTA
Can do multiple xTaskCreate's on one core though, if that's any help.

I've not tried this, but my first instinct would be to use an RTL-SDR with a directional antenna and wave it around...
