1984 Voltswagen Rabbit DIY EV Conversion Motor Mounts Part 4 Nicely done! Your welding seems solid. My mindset to building new mounts was to make them removable or better yet them allow me to directly access the motor and stuff that i would need to replace or service. I would be really annoyed some...

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
I redid my VCU wiring so that i use ignition to allways start VCU power together with VCU logic. Now VCU allways starts in sync. This means step 2 and the shutoff loop are redundant. But i will leave it in in case if i come to a different solution. This is in no way perfect. Let me explain the wirin...

This one is shorter. There is another which is a bit larger. Both the same way internally.

Re: Mazda MX-3 electric
I decide to connect additional 12S module, 8 in total together. This last module will live under the rear seats. I cut an underside plate from 5mm Alu which will help fix the module in place and dissipate the heat. To fix it in place i used 100mm M10 bolts that i fit from the underside and carefully...

Rear box will remains much the same. image.png My idea was to fit 4 battery modules in sandwich on 8mm thick Alu sheet. They will be supported by two C inox sections bolted into the box from underside. Each lower module is bolted to upper module by M10 x 180 bolts. Those bolts incidentally join toge...

After some serious driving with Outlander VCU, for more than 200km stretch... i may share some thought about this VCU. Teensy works really well when it works inside its loop. That means when VCU is activated and car is in FWD or RWD mode drive is very smooth, no jumps or glitches. Torque is somewhat...

Re: 1984 Voltswagen Rabbit Prius Gen 3
Not sure if you meant building a battery or the freezing temps & charging. I was looking at using LEV60F cells with a BMS and a heater. I watched the video but I didn't see anything about how to deal with below freezing temps and charging. Was considering ultra caps then switching on the batter...

On another note... Maybe you could use Lebowski drive. It is now trully opensource. https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/lebowski-controller-ic-2-b0-source-code-and-short-explanation.104895/ Interface is really simple for driving a prop. Lebowski has a way of sensing magnet-coil interaction ins...

Re: 1984 Voltswagen Rabbit Prius Gen 3
Heating the springs to the point where they bend will destroy the tempering of the spring significantly weakening it. Essentially heating something cherry red and letting it cool down slowly will anneal the steel. It's a very bad idea. Well annealing is the point here if you want to lower the ride ...

I just received another heater myself. Its good to have spares. With Outlander parts its simple replacement if something goes wrong.

. If it feels like a seesaw over bumps at certain speeds the suspension frequency is off. This is kind of old school for suspension tuining but it works well. If any of you can recommend some adjustable shocks/springs I would really appreciate it. I used 3cm alu pads with rear shocks as my EV weight distribution changed from 68:32 to 50:50. It caused a weird front axle geometry and funny drive trough turns. When i put the pads at the rear the front actua...

I am back. I made a new wiring for the front elements CAN bus and separated 12V power supply in case that would help with any noise on the line. It didnt! Heater still wouldnt start and i could see speedo jumping at speed. This frustrated me greatly, but l simply turned to sorting some ancillaries s...

Re: [WIP] Volvo Vee70 with Outlander Rear Motor
Yes, it's not gonna be a power house but I recon it's going to be fine. You could fit the rear parts of axle of the XC70 to your V70which is driven and fit another outlander motor there. Inverter actually doesnt care where it is located. You could actually connect 2 inverter to a single battery and...

Re: Tesla SDU _> S2000 dash cluster
Effectively it's a Arduino Due with two CAN channels. There is also eeprom needed for effective DUE use, wich led me to design my own shield that goes over DUE board and has 2 CAN chips, uln2003 chip for outputs and two small relays for using stronger contactors. Input power is protected by a diode...
