Re: Inline wire HV disconnects that are IP67+
Maybe that's suitable. Cable 50mm² to 120mm². At least easy to get here in Germany. In different colors and codings, also in red and black for direct current.

It can definitely be controlled. It sends 6 CAN messages and receives 15+ messages. CAN high is on A191-1B pin 4, CAN low is on pin 10, GND on pin 2, Kl30 on pin 7, Kl15 on pin 9.

Re: Can't get any regen with LDU, help! [SOLVED]
Replacing the entire inverter is not a problem. There are two temperature sensors, the three lines to the stator and the temperature lines to the stator. Everything plugged or screwed. To access the screws for the heatsink you have to remove the busbars. You can reach the three screws for the stator...

Re: where to pass TUV in Germany
Actually doesn't look bad. The battery and battery attachment could look more professional. Above all, the loose pouch cells and the BMS wiring will have deterred the TÜV. Here I would only have mentioned that they are from a Mrcedes.

Re: where to pass TUV in Germany
You should maybe change your request at the TÜV. There is the VdTÜV leaflet 764. It summarizes the important regulations for the conversion to an EV drive. When you report to the TÜV, you should state that you have this leaflet and have designed your conversion accordingly.

Re: Altering regen on the fly
Here is the input circuit for the LDU. I think it's the same with you. You can, for example, pull the signal externally with a 10kOhm pull-up resistor at 10V to 5V and lower it with an arduino with a mosfet to ground and PWM as you wish.

Re: Regen on a full battery ?
In my OEM car, the maximum regeneration depends on the charge level of the battery. That is also how it is displayed. According to a correlation between the battery capacity, the maximum possible regeneration is determined even before the brake pedal is pressed, which prevents ups and downs during b...

Not that anyone thinks this project is sleeping. I only have a lot of sheet metal work and little electrics. The sheet metal is pretty wide at the front. At the moment I'm working on the top chop. Will also need a few months of sheet metal work until it comes to the finish (paint).

Re: Accelerator pedal dead zone
No the clue is that it has a dynamic regen based on speed so it tapers at low rpm to remove the dead zone. That is why two graphs and the arrow. That makes sense. This means if the current RPM is half the set limit and the pedal is at 0%, regen is also half the set value. Above the set RPM, the dis...

Re: Accelerator pedal dead zone
The way I have implemented this feature in the past and on my EVS products image.png So all I have is a "steady regen rpm" from which it tapers the off pedal regen to 0 at just above +/- 50-100 rpm. Results have been very good in many vehicles from small light classic Minis to Tesla LDU p...

I installed this, it is specified as 3A / 36 W. Most sources say so. But maybe there are also differences, e.g. DC motor versus solenoid with peak and hold.

Two individual connectors are also useful, e.g. to make one for the charging socket with LED, locking actuator, PE/PP, control button and fuel flap switch and the other for the connection to the car with ...

Re: Accelerator pedal dead zone
I dont think the regen travel should ever get as high as 50% of the throttle, The OEM implementations i've driven do most of this fiddling at low speeds and above that its fairly static. My suggestion is based on parameter. It may well be that a maximum of 30% pedal value at 70km/h or other values ...

Re: Accelerator pedal dead zone
Suggestion would be to remove regentravel and add regenrpm? And when you set it to 8000 for example, how would it work? Let's say you press the pedal 20% and letting the car to accelerate slowly to speed, for example 60 km/h. Then, when you lift your foot slowly - for example so that it takes 3 sec...

Can it be that your udcmin and udcmax limit the performance or regeneration? Maybe you have cables that are too thin and too long, with a high resistance!

Re: Modified de Dion axle in the UK
I first fixed the two individual parts with a pipe and a threaded rod. This ensures that the wheels are straight afterwards and that the track width is correct. I also changed the attachment for the air spring, it would look different with a leaf spring. The welded tube has a diameter of 89mm and a ...

Re: Accelerator pedal dead zone
And on the left side, between 0 and 20km/h? The formula continues in the same way (left). It would be correct as shown in the middle. You need more parameters for that. In reality it will be like the picture on the right, since near zero the braking torque possible due to regeneration decreases. I ...

I don't know anything about UK regulations, but I can imagine that you have better chances if you fit parts from another car. One possibility would be the axis of an Opel Diplomat! I personally made a De Dion axle out of Mercedes trailing arms for my car. I also use the Mercedes brakes and drive sha...

Re: Accelerator pedal dead zone
My suggestion looks like this. With a flat curve for acceleration at low speeds. Useful for high power configurations. Strong regeneration also possible at lower speeds => less use of the brake pedal. A new parameter needed, if it is set to 0 everything is as before. And of course no dead zone! Rege...
